Terrain Orienteering race 52:00 [4] 8.4 km (6:11 / km) +80m 5:55 / km
ahr:159 max:166

Robin Hood Trophy, Blue 7.0km 80m 52:34, wt: 47:19 Paul Addison. 3rd on course, 2nd M55.
Felt a bit stiff and tired warming up, but got into a good rhythm early on and never noticed again! Overall pretty clean. Good start, spiking 1-4 perfectly. Kept it simple throughout, sometimes taking road/path route round to keep up pace, trying to make sure no concentration losses, as if lose time on this stuff, there's no making it up. A couple of tangles with brambles, but only one threated to cause any problems (exit east out of 13). Really pleased as speed is not my strongest suit, but the interesting start helped! Good course!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 1.6 km (12:30 / km)

Terrain Orienteering 35:00 [4] 4.5 km (7:47 / km) +165m 6:34 / km
ahr:158 max:164

O-Lite, Esholt Woods, 3.6km 165m: 33:45. Treated as training run with only brief warm up. Intended not to be flat out with tomorrow in mind, not feeling fully recovered yet. In fact, felt better than expected once got going. Several silly mks. 4 and 8: route selection - 30s or so on each; lost contact lens at 10 which slowed me up, followed by 2 mins at 12 - to wrong boulder on slope (vision didn't help!), looped round and attacked again from above. Not convinced actually on right boulder, but probably was - just not seeing/thinking straight. Total: 3 mins +, showing how rusty and sloppy I am currently technically! Further practice tomorrow: need to make sure break legs down into parts. What was good was that, take the 2 mins out, and was running at half a minute per km faster than the event in January on similar profile, and was taking it easier.

Running 43:00 [3] 6.7 km (6:25 / km) +80m 6:03 / km

Carlton Ln - picnic mountain - across fields to Ings Ln, back through High Royds. Kept it steady. Felt OK but not a lot more than that.

Note
(rest day)

More tired than I thought - definitely don't recover like I used to! Take it a bit easier for the next couple of days, and see how things go at Clumber.

Running 45:00 [3] 7.5 km (6:00 / km) +185m 5:20 / km
ahr:141 max:157

In reality two runs: from Frizinghall Stn to Bradford Girls, and then the return a couple of hours later. Meant to be an easy recovery run, but forgot the stiff climb for a couple of kilometres up from Frizinghall to Heaton! Through Lister Park, working consistently at level 4 really, before nice easy drop down to school. Easierr on way back, down those 2km!. Definitely felt weary leaving BGGS. Planned a longer run tomorrow, but will see how I feel.

Running hills 37:00 [5] 6.5 km (5:42 / km) +130m 5:10 / km
ahr:139 max:161

1x Menston seven hills loop plus first three climbs of second lap, ten in all. Feeling a bit stiff, but better than expected. Windy with a bit of mizzle. In future, should come back along slope rather than looping round to start again: more intense, cutting out easier section from top of Fairfax Rd to bottom of Farnley Rd.

Running warm up/down 13:00 [2] 2.0 km (6:30 / km)
