GrizO Lone Pine in Kalispell.
Will Dickinson and Jesse Nelson set courses, which was excellent. I stayed in Polson overnight and drove up to Kalispell early to set up. The smoke was pretty bad in town, but significantly better on the mountain - far better than what I felt in Tahoe.
After doing a bunch of registration and beginner instruction, I ran the advanced course. Predictably, it was very steep. The map definitely needs more work, but it worked well enough, and I had no real trouble except for a parallel error on 18 that had me cut into the green, rocky slope way too early.
I ended up the only person to actually complete the advanced course, which is not ideal. Jesse ran the whole thing, but skipped $3 by accident.
It ended up being a fun event, including appearances by Aaanika Ruutopold and Bill Cheatum, each of whom has some Montana connections.
