shoes: Blue/Orange Asics 2019

Running in Rock Creek, Western Ridge Trail on the way down, then mostly Valley Trail on the way back up. Finally got through this run without completely falling apart. The cooler weather helped - mid 50's when I started, mid 60's when I finished.

Orienteering 1:02:35 [3] 5.4 km (11:35 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra Fall 2015

Central Ohio Orienteers local event at Great Seal State Park in Chillicothe, OH.

I ran the longest course available at this event. There was pin punching, and you had to copy your own course onto the map. A throwback event! Probably Inara's first time pin punching too.

My course is here:

The map was somewhat approximate, as was the course setting, but the terrain was fairly nice with some open white woods, large swaths of green, and steep slopes. I spent around ten minutes searching for #6, which ended up being about 200 meters above the circle, just below the trail. Still, it was a beautiful day, and I enjoyed myself. COO is a small club, but they manage a regular schedule of roughly monthly events, which is quite cool. I hope they are able to continue growing, as this was an area worthy of a national event, given a new map.

Running 10:00 [2]

A little bit of a warmup and then a few minutes jogging along the White course in reverse order to find my parents and Inara, who got around the whole course on foot!
