I realized halfway to the park that I had forgotten my shoes. I was going to just walk a course, but ultimately decided to run in my every-day shoes. Steep slopes were a challenge with no traction, and I slid around in them some, aggravating a hot spot into a blister. My knee started hurting toward the end, and I slowed considerably.
The red course was very much an intermediate-level course, with a lot of road running between controls. A couple of controls were hung poorly (e.g., hidden beneath a bush), and a couple were misplaced (#5 was about 20-25 meters too far down the reentrant on the wrong rock feature). The setter is fairly new to setting, and is eager to learn and improve.
