Catalonia MSR Leg 3. Went out in 4th and about 1:30 down, and came back in the lead (although only just) but in a good enough position for last leg to see the job out successfully. The area was just a park so had been worried the course would be underwhelming, but there seemed to just the right level of vegetation/paths/climb/street furniture to have a pretty enjoyable course in the end. Plus relays are always fun.

Jog home. Bloody warm.
If I had a nickel for every time I've done a long run back to my flat through the hills from an orienteering sprint relay, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's kind of weird that it's happened twice.

First half was mainly running involved negotiating the scrappy bits of terrain between fields, but the seconds half was in the woods and was much nicer. Hadn't really been expecting too much beforehand anyway as I was mainly here to help out the club in organising the event after their many emails asking for more volunteers, but I still have a nice time. Still feeling whatever Wednesday was a bit, so also good to have some motivation to put some effort in. Plus I won a bottle of cava which is an added bonus.

After spending 2 hours successfully manning the post-race snack table I agreed to do a bit of collecting with the promise of a lift back to the station - didn't fancy the 20min jog in the sun with a bottle of sparking wine as I feared having an impromptu F1 podium-esque moment half way back.
Slept terribly yesterday and felt like death all day. Stomach pains that developed during yesterday's run never really improved, which added to the all round bad vibes.
Got home from work and immediately slept for 2 hours. Woke up and finished my lunch that I couldn't stomach previously, and then went back to bad and slept for 10 more.

Had a few more copas than planned at some impromptu post-work socialising but decided it was still a good idea to get some miles in: the first 15mins were a struggle, then felt incredible for the middle 30, before dying an extremely uncomfortable death for the last part. Still a good evening on balance though.
