ESOC SoSOL 1 - Pentlands - 6.9km

Took this course as training and concentrated on nailing the controls. Mostly just running through frosty heather and felt mostly uphill. Not the most complex area but still useful to practice. Completely clean run until 15 where I lost a minute and another 2 at 17. Not too bad overall.

Wanted a long run but didn't want to be completely shattered for tomorrow. Ran up to the Millingavie reservoirs and looped round both of them. Kept going going with no stops at all. Feeling pretty good.

After heavy rain and strong wind all day we opted for a lower and flatter run and within minutes we were still all soaked and frozen. Not too long a run although over half was either through bracken or marsh so it was pretty physical and still felt worn out by then end.

Had no time for my ushall run on Wednesday but managed to fit in a shorter one in the dark with a head torch. Feeling pretty good so pushed the pace towards the end.

8x 800m reps with 90 seconds of slow jog recovery. Pretty fast reps and I was definetly struggling on the last one to keep up the pace. Another freezing night so had to avoid all the ice.
