Georgia Navigator Cup at Mistletoe State Park Green Y course. I had lots of fun on this challenging but approachable course in beautiful open woods. Used the trails a lot and comparing my track to others shows that I would have shorter legs by going straight more often rather than taking the long trail run but I am much slower in the woods.

OCIN TROL/WARS meet on a new map at Miami Woods; Red course set by Pat Meehan. Except for the field at the south end, this map is basically varying degrees of green and trails with a few streams/ditches. The course had a lot of trail running up and down hills interspersed with bashing through honeysuckle to the controls. C17 was the slowest due to the long hike along the green ditch. Still it was great to get out on a warmer day (just over freezing). Thanks to Pat for spending 8 hrs placing controls on a much colder Sat.

Kick-off for the 2018 National Junior Program season with a mass start microsprint set remotely by Greg Ahlswede at Miami Woods. Aidan, Salinda, Nathaniel Fleenor, a couple of other juniors, Rob, Stephanie, Thurston and I ran the course. Upon the start signal, we turned over our maps and all of the men except Thurston ran NE while all of the women ran to C1 NW of the start. They eventually figured it out and most of them caught up and passed us. Fun course that made the most of a small simple area.

I like the spirit Greg is bringing to the NJP. Check out the video he made of the Philadelphia and Cincinnati camps using cedarcreek's drone video footage for the OCIN segment:
