Bull Island Brown Course. Really fun course esp as the water levels were bit lower than last time round. Aim for today was just to jog round and concentrate on the navigation side rather than the speed. Clean all the way round with a couple of hesitations. Stopped a little bit short to 10 after I met Angus coming back at me saying he'd overshot, but once I trusted my instincts we dropped down onto it. Lost map contact going into 18 after I got distracted after having a chat with Gina (standard) but I was thankfully on the right line and was about 10m away from it. Again lost map contact going into 29 after I stopped to help a junior, this one was pure luck that I cut into the dunes at exactly the right point as I hadn't a clue where on the line I was! But all in all my nav was pretty much bang on today which I was very happy with.

Now to take it easy at the start of the week before the 10k on Thursday.

Parkrun. Using today's run as pacing practice for Thursdays 10k. Set VP to 4:36 (23 min). Felt fairly comfortable all the way round but the course was completely flat so I'm not sure I can keep that pace over 10k with at least one 'hill' fairly early in the course

Gentle round Ormeau, was aiming for around 35 mins but my Achilles really started to ache and stretching didn't ease if off so I packed it in and walked back to the car. Don't want to aggravate it too much before the 10k next week.

Warm up was a bit pointless tonight when we were sent to get our photo taken with Mary P so everyone had cooled back down before the first rep.
8 x 3.15 tonight with 2 mins recovery. No John shouting lap times which meant my pacing was all over the place. First rep lapped in 96s and then after that it was anywhere between 90-95s laps. Got over 800 in all reps though so happy enough
