orienteering race 54:57 [4] *** 4.6 km (11:57 / km)
16c (injured) shoes: Icebug 2020

Green course set by Ben Hart at A J Jolly. Good use of the available woods, but still a favorable course for a strong runner. Very happy with how the leg felt, although I still used the knee brace.

Hiking at Mounds SRA - flat to gently rolling, nothing really steep. Distance estimated, but at least 3 miles. About an inch of snow cover. Lots of tracks: deer, rabbit, turkey and lots of other critters. Came upon a deer carcass in the middle of the trail - heavily eaten by scavengers but lots of fleshy parts still remaining.

brown course at Camp Friedlander. Conditions were very sloppy with light rain melting an inch or so of slushy snow. Getting in and out of reentrant and ditch controls was a mud slide. Knee brace - was able to jog most of the course but had to walk / pick my way down steeper slopes. Glasses were constantly fogged; even as nearsighted as I am, I'd have been better off without taking them.

Navigation was fairly clean, although I nearly blew by 11... left 10 and set my sights on the finish way across the lake. Fortunately something inspired me to take a close glance at it again just before I passed 11.
