8 AM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.5 mi (8:00 / mi) +30m 7:43 / mi

Kiveton Park to Rother Valley
9 AM

Running race 16:37 [5] 3.1 mi (5:22 / mi) +10m 5:18 / mi

Rother Valley parkrun (#56) - 1st, 16:37
I knew this was a quick one and so it proved
Could have gone off harder but was in the zone by the end.
Shows I'm in good shape.
90s ahead of 2nd.
One lap of the lake, nice. Recommended for a blow out.

Running warm up/down 11:40 [3] 1.5 mi (7:47 / mi) +40m 7:11 / mi

To the Tram stop

Running 5:30 [3] 0.8 mi (6:53 / mi)

Round the outside of the EIS. Nearly missed call up.
1 PM

Running race 2:48 [5] 0.7 mi (4:00 / mi)

Northern Indoor Open 1000m (heat 3) - 2nd 2:48.6

Bit of fun but a good bit of training too.
Wound it up and up as others dropped off but didn't have raw speed to get the win.
2 PM

Running 6:00 [5] 1.2 mi (5:00 / mi)

Northern Indoor Open 2000m - (heat 2) 1st - 6:00.8

Well legs weren't feeling great so eased myself in with a 72 first 400, sat in a bit but approaching 1k realised pace was slowing as thought what am I doing so put in a kick (a kick, me!!) to get the front and wound it up to pull away and take the win, which was a good feeling it has to be said. Had to sprint at the end as shouts indicated someone was closing
3:02/2:58 split which is good
I like racing indoors.

Running warm up/down 7:50 [3] 1.0 mi (7:50 / mi)

Down the canal to another tram stop.
5 PM

Running warm up/down 9:00 [3] 1.1 mi (8:11 / mi)

It may be dark, but I'm still racing

Orienteering race 37:38 [3] 5.0 mi (7:32 / mi) +30m 7:23 / mi

Conygham Hall Night Race - 5th

Very enjoyable thanks to not being too technical an area so focus was on making right changes of direction and good nav when nearby. Only big mistake was at 20 when I made a 90 deg error corrected and then talked myself out of the correction. Otherwise was there or thereabouts getting nearby and some slight faffing or overshooting, except 1 which went a bit wrong and falling over coming out of 23. Sure they will get more difficult though.

Everyone should do 4 races in a day, its a lot of fun.

Running 1:07:38 [2] 8.5 mi (7:57 / mi) +225m 7:21 / mi

Off road headtorch run pre poker with Dave, Rod and Niall.
Pushed on the first two miles to meet them as knew pace would drop once we got off road.
However it was a lot better than expected, hovering in the low 8's despite some sticky stuff in places.
Great route round Esholt and up Yeadon, perfect evening for running.
Very sociable and I slipped into the groove nicely, wouldn't have liked to go any faster at all.
Very hairy moment on Yeadon banks, at least 6/7 horse blocking the gate, so we clapped at them and they trotted off to the side. I noticed one had ended up the wrong side of the fence. Then looked back once 20m through the gate to see them all galloping towards us. Sprinted past the other three shouting horse, a state of mass panic ensued, I ran straight and the others took various angles right, luckily they found a stile which I veered off to and got over whilst the horse carried on. It has been suggested to me they were only having a bit of fun, but turning round at the time it did not seem that way!

Running 1:07:16 [3] 9.0 mi (7:28 / mi) +190m 7:01 / mi

Round north Leeds with Oz, similar to two weeks ago, except we didn't touch the ring road.
Didn't feel great after last night's exertions, and went through a dodgy dizzy spell at 4 miles.
Perhaps it didn't help I was fully kitted out when it was nowhere near as cold as I expected.

Running 1:24:30 [3] 12.0 mi (7:03 / mi) +260m 6:36 / mi

LCAC Hill Session
6 x (90secs up, back down, 30secs up, back down)
90 secs is a long way uphill
The recoveries back down were at a fair tempo
30 secs not an issue

Solid session, can def. see progression compared to others, last 20secs of the 90 was a killer every time, hope we aren't doing 2 mins next time.

Good support from those injured or just doing a steady run, really good of them to do so too.

6 PM

Running 1:10:13 [3] 10.0 mi (7:01 / mi) +230m 6:33 / mi

Bingley > Home via Shipley and Hollins Hill

Trying to take it easy but soon slipped into a steady pace feeling good and pushed up the hill simply to get it done, then was obsessed with keeping under 70mins, then told myself off for this and slipped outside.
Mild evening.
