Note
(injured) (rest day)

Gentle walk to work and back - lots of rest for an M45. Events on Thurs/Sat and Sun though.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

knees and calf still hurting - restricted exercise to walking to town and back twice - once carrying shopping. Stretching still continues for neck and legs.

Basically, you can't change a body with 20 years behind the desk into a super-toned, orienteering machine overnight, or even over 4 months.

Waist measurement down 4cm since March.

Did some work on planning the Loughborough Event in June.

Orienteering race 1:42:15 [3] **** 7.2 km (14:12 / km) +290m 11:49 / km
12c shoes: inov-8 oroc 280

British Championships (my first). For me a happy run pretty close to my generous target time. Pulled something in right calf muscle before first control, so running up hill became painful. Navigation to controls generally ok, running between poor, still some moments where "how the hell did i end up here?" came to mind. Forgot to pack GPS. 14th of 18th in M45S.

Was caught on camera though:

Orienteering race 57:31 [3] ** 5.1 km (11:17 / km) +30m 10:57 / km
19c shoes: inov-8 oroc 280

LEI Summer league - last of the finishers again. Knees still hurting, but generally improving. First control completely wrong - quite embarrassing, rest mostly ok, but still need to work on stamina and navigation - basically i've still a lot to learn before i stop being last ...
