Note
Arrived yesterday, no more delays, but my bag got broken into by the Boston TSA and I am currently missing a bag of casual clothes, and maple syrup...dicks.
it also arrived 1/4 of the way open due to the broken zipper...
FML....
I'll call them when I have free time, currently heading out to the Bulgarian cup
Running warm up/down 22:00 [3]
Up and down,
It's so great to be back in Bulgaria!
My favorite thing was to run by someone, casually say hi, have them say hi, then do a double-take, realize that yes indeed I am here, then run over to me, pick me up and spin me around as if I was their daughter/sister/grandchild :)
Orienteering race 47:52 [3] *** 4.3 km (11:08 / km)
spiked:15/18c
For starters I arrived late to my start (so minus one-two minutes)
So much sand and rocks... rolled my ankle 73804380 times (slight exaggeration)
1-5 was slow but easy going, still had the sprint mindset, so I made a habit of looking ahead, which really paid off!
6-16 was fast pace! Minus my booboo of running directly from 10-12, luckily 11 and 12 were close by so it didn't really matter, it just meant that I had the fastest split to 12 =D
12-16 were decent, slight downhill so I felt pretty fast.
Okay, now for the stupid part.
16's code was 31, I still had the mindset that I was looking for 31,,( on my way I saw a rabbit, this will become relevant in a bit) when I arrived at 17 (36) I saw that indeed, it wasn't 31, so I ran off and relocated again, and ended up back at 17, rechecked the code, and left again... I ran around for 5 minutes before finally checking the code description and seeing that I kept ignoring my control... >.< My eyes hurt from how widely I rolled then once I realized my mistake....
Okay, now for the rabbit part: The coach I'm staying with was using my mistake as an example, "You saw a control that wasn't yours and you got scared, so like a rabbit, you ran away. In these situations you should stay and try to figure out where you are, instead of running off blindly"
The rabbit that I saw was obviously a sign :P I'll be keeping an eye out for them so I can be reminded to keep a level head
All in all, I was able to be placed 3rd =D
