Felt a bit of pressure and heart racing but it calmed down a lot through warming up and didn't feel it anymore on the start, so good to see. The race started strong, it looks like I was holding my own well to 4. No big mistakes, all I can ask for in a quali. Picking out the main flaws, people made a big gap on me through the green to 5, felt like I was trying to push through it, can't tell if I might've just chosen an awful line. To 8 my route doesn't seem to have any proper issues with it, I could correct it by either staying closer to the yellow while attacking from the crag or coming more over the hill to attack from the yellow. Small loss of focus to 9 not taking the path to the right. Strength lacking, will prioritize being faster and stronger next time. Goals for future are qualifying for the final on merit alone instead of through the backdoor, and a stepping stone of finishing in the high 10s. Obviously will be tougher to qualify for the WOC team next year with the American heavyweights returning and some new faces but that will come with good training.

Mostly a pretty good race. Things I remember, fat mistake to 22 being too high and seeing some random crags, attacked from house twice and failed bit times, second time saw Tomas Lima hit it so a little lucky. Boundary between greens not easy to see. Really struggling to move out of 6, didn't realize I ended up so far to the right, no wonder I was stumbling all over, had concerns that I'd end up heavily bonked but the runnability did get physically easier in the course. Didn't see the ride on the map going to 13 from the right, the way I went it probably would've been better to go along the stone wall but as I was getting closer to the green thought that my best option was to go in from the white near the control, ended up working out. Big pack going to 15, absolutely running on fumes there, wish I could've passed and kept attempting to catch people but I was pretty ruined. Nice to work as a group on 15-18 with Paul and somewhat Tomas. After the arena package there was a small bobble as a group, but the next one was the most frustrating. Already mentioned it but I did see Paul and the Serbian peel away from the pack, but to me it looked like they had found it and we're heading to 23 rather than going downhill to get it. I thought my level on the hill was alright so it didn't seem wise to use them on the assumption that they hadn't hit it yet as I thought I would just need to attack again and end up in the same situation if they had actually hit it. The distance from the clearing isn't actually that far so that should've rang some warning bells. Mental improvement needed there, would've been much safer to stay lower from the clearing and looking up the hill since I would've instead been in light green looking uphill for a control at the base of a crag, a much easier task. Not that disappointed with the race, shit happens and navigated well on a course I expected to be extremely tough. Stayed (mostly lol did swing around a bit to 3) in control getting chased by those loud-ass drones and no big nerves so good stuff there.
