Orienteering race 35:34 [4] *** 4.54 km (7:50 / km)
spiked:17/19c slept:6.5

JIRCS relays Sandscale Haws dunes. First leg (team of Sarah Pedley/Katherine Hall), 3.6km.
Cannot express my love for sand dunes enough! I just love them ;) Knew I just needed to get my navigation right. Which I did pretty well. Slight hesitation at #1 but nothing major. Took an easier route choice to the left at #4 and ended up by myself from then on. The rest was all pretty good apart from #16 where I went to a different control first (and Kathryn got ahead of me -.-) Came back 7th which I'm pretty happy with (and even more so after my JHI relay......:/) Team finished 11th, which I think is alright:)

And go YHOA for 3rd overall!!!! :D Yoooooorkshireeeee ;)

JIRCS individual on Graythwaite. 3.6km, 155m.
Really like this part of Graythwaite so was looking forward to it! Missed #3 as I was further down the marsh than I originally thought so ran around a bit before going back to the marsh and realising what id done... Lost ~4mins :/ #8 I lost concentration and went a rather stupidly loopy route. Wasn't sure where I was until recognising this big crag (from previously being lost in that area) so then went straight to the control!! Lost ~2mins. #9 waa the hardest leg and everyone seemed to mess it up, but I found it fine after only a few hesitations. Really happy to end up 3rd!!

Nice hike up to Easedale Tarn. We stopped like every 200m though to look at some geographical features... It was a bit frustrating but definitely quite interesting! And nicer than being in school for the day!! We covered maybe 4/5 miles in about 6 hours D:
