Orienteering race 32:19 [4] 3.3 km (9:48 / km) +115m 8:20 / km

British Middle Championships. Today was another selection for the Deeside tour and if I got the championship time it would be my third and final one! Dad had a map of the area from the Spook relays a few years ago so I was geeking it in the car journey, trying to work out what was up and what was down because it was so confusing! I was in the start box and the commentator announced that Jenny Ricketts had just come in with a time of 31 something which I was glad about because I didn't have a clue what time others had done. The first four controls in the technical bit were amazing for me and I made no mistakes! According to the splits, I was winning my whole course up to control 7, and then I messed up number 8. I couldn't work out what was up or down and I thought the control was up when it was down so I got confused and started wandering about a bit. I lost about 1 min but I wasn't too annoyed because it could've been a lot worse! I then messed up number 11 because I lost concentration and headed off in the wrong direction. But again, that mistake could've been worse. The last half of the course was just running across the moors and I was just slow for the most of that bit. I knew at the finish my time was pretty good and I was less than a minute behind Jenny! My splits said I was third:D The start list said there was no-one of note left to run so I was hoping I could stay in that position! I did:D so woooo third at British Middles!!!!

Orienteering race 19:20 [4] 2.4 km (8:03 / km) +30m 7:35 / km

British Sprint Championships. Morning heat 2.3. I needed to be at least 4th out of 8 in my heat to get to the A final but I had serious problems with my calves round the course so was going really slowly and had to stop in some places, mainly up the hills. Was really worried I wouldn't make the A final even though I was sure I was in the easiest heat, as if i'd been in any other heat, I probably wouldn't have made it....:/ When I finished I was 4th out of 4 but very fortunately I stayed there! Although that did mean I ended up starting first in the A final-.-

Orienteering race 18:29 [4] 2.2 km (8:24 / km) +45m 7:37 / km

British Sprint Championships - W16 A final. After the heats, I got my dad to stretch my legs out. It was very painful but I knew it would help. It did and I had no problems with my calves the whole way round!:D The afternoon was definitely more technical than in the heats as there was lots of buildings of similar shapes all close together. Biggest mistake I made was number 5 when I was on the wrong side of the building corner. I then somehow got a bit confused and ended up going the long way around the building!-.- After that I was alright, just a bit slow I think. I ended up 7th which I was pretty happy with because sprints aren't my strong point.

Running 45:35 [3] 4.0 mi (11:24 / mi)

Was meant to go round Yateholme but left it too late after school, and also a maths teacher from my school was coming round for tea so I had to go on a shorter one-.- Went round Digley and then over the fields to Holme and back down the road. Basically walked the whole way across the fields because I felt awful and was going uphill into a strong headwind... Took me forever and I had problems with my calves again, which wasn't helped by the fact I'd been walking around school all day and then didn't stretch before i left:/

Netball 30:00 [2]

Huddersfield Giants netball. Wouldn't normally put this on but I was actually dripping with sweat when I finished so I thought it was worth a log;) It's the end os the season so a lot of people have moved up into the older category. he coach is know picking a new team for next season so that is why we are still training. We were in three teams and just played matches for the whole hour and a half. I played in three of my teams four ten minute matches and I was working pretty hard because I would love to get into the U16 A team! I probably won't get in though because our squad is very strong - but I might as well try!
