Digley. Was going to do 70 minutes but felt absolutely terrible and calves were so stiff I was basically limping up my road at the end... Actually out for nearly 50 minutes(?!) but that includes three stops to try and stretch out

Day 5. 4.9km. Navigation good which was nice. Although the over 100m climb to the first control kind of killed me off... Bad route to #8 as a I didn't look at the left route. Ended up with no proper attack point and veered off line, finding 3 other controls before mine. #9 was a tricky leg straight down a steep slope to a boulder and I was too far left and ended up climbing back up to it.

Ended up 20th overall, after starting 19th today. I was in the top 15 before my disaster of a middle race though :(

Day 4 - Middle. 3.4km. Complete disaster on #6. I was following where I was the whole way but must've drifted to the right and ended up wandering for ages not knowing where I was. Eventually, I went back a bit and found myself on a hill where I was pretty sure I knew where I was. I then saw the girl who started 4 mins behind me run past so I decided to follow her into the control... After that everything was alright, just a few misses due to bad direction.

Day 3. 5km. Saw #1 but didn't think it was my control so ran off before coming back 30 seconds later-.- Next lot were great, just slow due to my calves playing up and deciding to be sooooo stiff. They eased up after the road crossing (#8) but my navigational abilities seemed to cease. Missed #9 by a considerable amount, was miles too far left of #11 and I just forgot to navigate to #12... Go me.

Day 2. 4.9km. Similar time to yesterday but the area was less technical so everyone else was faster, meaning I ended up much further down. Didn't follow my compass to #1 and #2 so lost quite a bit of time. Caught up my 4 and 8 minute people just before #8 and I stupidly allowed myself to get distracted by them and ended up circling in the wrong area before getting my head together and relocating. Annoyed with myself, I then ran off in the wrong direction to #9 and lost more time. Idiot. Really frustrating.

Day 1. 5.2km straight line. Took a while to get used to 1:15 map scale at first and also the long legs. I took my time finding #1 which was in a very vague area but managed not to panic and relocated quite quickly. Same with #2; I got dragged right a bit but easily relocated off a big crag. Slight miss on #3 but after that everything was great! Finished 8th/about 60.

Training race on the third area, Holmasa. Decided to stick to the 3.1km Blue course. Nav was good and felt like I was moving at a good pace.

Arrived in Sweden about 9:30am. Put our tent up on the gravel pit that was the O-Ringen campsite, had lunch and went training. Area called Rydboholm. Planned myself a course, but after getting lost for a while on the first control I decided to make it a bit shorter and walk for the rest of it. Was still pretty rubbish for the next few, even at such a slow pace. Navigation did improve throughout fortunately.
