Haven't had the pleasure of this is a while.... Surprisingly okay apart from not catching the ball a few times, oops. C for whole game so feet haven't had a pounding like that in a while, resulting in numerous blisters on my feet!! A 49-40 win :))

Up along the top of Salisbury crags and back. V short but calves felt it so hopefully done some good. A nice stretch afterwards.

Still struggling to breathe, especially with a strong headwind! Got a chesty cough too that isn't getting much better yet. Feeling very tired running and sleeping a lot... Hopefully will pass soon D:

Wheezing v badly so breathing was a bit of a struggle. Although the main aim was just to run up a hill. Which I did. Not exactly a mountain but took it steady and stopped to stretch out calves at the top. They tightened up a bit on the downhill back home. Just taking it one step at a time...

Missed this so much!!! Abso glorious weather, out in shorts and short sleeves until 21:30 without getting cold :D Victoria, Flouch, Triple Hill (yummy), Penistone, Victoria and home via Scholes. Literally so buzzing what a fabulous ride:))) although it did get dark and I had no lights so had to be escorted home oops...

Saw Kim today about my calves. She reckons its no longer an issue of simply not being very flexible, but that they are simply struggling to deal with the large load put on them when running up hills (Graythwaite last Saturday) and through more resistant terrain eg mud (JK relays) and sand (British nights); makes sense.
The simple solution (hopefully) is to get them more accustomed to it by implementing similar loads into training... Guess we'll see how it goes!

Well, what can I say. About managed to run up the hill to #1 and after that there was no hope. Calves so tight and SO painful up any form of incline so was reduced to a walk/hobble. Came dead last lol. Tried to go for a massage after but he packed up before I managed to get there :( probably going to see Kim next week.

Bit of a pain in my right calf which is a tad worrying... Went for a walk around Digley with mum and Wendy and it felt better but then sitting down again for a while and it hurts again. Should be fine running tomorrow I hope.

Slept until 12 somehow this morning... Not sure why I was so knackered but feel so much better for it! Was plodding through some work then realised I needed to hand a lab report in before going home tomorrow. Decided it was a good excuse for a revision break, so ran to kings to hand it in then home via the innocent railway. V nice and felt pretty good. Calves no issue at all :D although it was basically flat and all on roads... Still, an improvement :)

Barely warmed up as I had no clue when Lucia was going to come in. Also didn't warm down because I was far too cold/wet/muddy.

JK Relay, Beaudesert. 3rd leg on EUOC's 3rd team: Come to EUOC Big Weekend 2019 (pls do) with Roanne on 1st and Lucia on 2nd. Was frozen by the time I went out but went hard for the first few controls to warm up and nailed them. As soon as I hit the mud though (of which there was more than I think I have ever seen in my entire life) my calves instantly seized up and I could no longer run... So basically the rest of the course from about 5 onwards was a bit of a crawl. Not much fun was had.

JK Long, Beaudesert. Enjoyed myself for the first 12 controls and felt like I was running okay. Missed a path junction on the way to #11, as I was clearly having too much fun running along a nice big track, and got a bit confused about what I'd done, lost about 3 minutes oops. Started hating life when I hit the slog up the hill to the spectator, it was not pleasant. And then had to head all the way back down the hill for a single control before re-slogging up the hill to the finish! Did not appreciate this. I need to get fitter at running up hills I have realised...

Still fairly happy with my time and finished in 9th. Got cut off from the EUOC train today by Kathryn :'(
