British Nights. Course 5, 5.6km.
Mostly easy around paths/large open areas. First two took slowly and followed the paths cautiously to make sure I got the right ones. Positive start. #3 was terrible - no paths and so I took a bearing but veered far too much to the right and then confused myself. Ran back to the main track and then up and down it for a bit until I realised my stupidity. Lost ~4mins. Rest of the course was fine really. Seemed to be going round with this lady for the couple across the golf course, who pushed me to run harder as she was faster than me. Pretty happy with my time, I'm just too slow compared to everyone else it seems...

First match of the Summer League. New team so always difficult for the first match. Played WD, only for second half as I didn't go to training last night :( felt good and got lots of interceptions which makes a change.. Although I was marking this old lady who was rather violent, and managed to slap me within the first minute and then didn't apologise?! Rude. We lost by two goals -.-

SYO night event at Limb Valley. Basically using this as a bit of a warm up for British Nights this weekend. Really bad first few controls; haven't night orienteered in a long time... Soon got into it and started finding the controls well! It was just a very slow area with so many holly bushes and steep, slippery slopes. Went straight on a few legs which probably wasn't the best of ideas because of the density of the bushes, but a good bit of slopes practice I guess.

Halifax Urban. Decided to run Women's Vets instead of the Open because of my being ill. Just took it as a training run really, hence intensity 3, which was made slightly more interesting by the addition of some orange and white flags that I kept finding.

Attempted a longer run with mum. Started across the fields out the back of the house, but my breathing was awful and my chest was tight, so as soon as we reached the road, I turned the opposite way to mum and ran down the road back home. Obviously not entirely better yet...

Slight headache and still very chesty with a sore throat.

Day out at Sheffield Uni today, mainly spent in the Chem Eng building. Pretended to be an applicant with Mikey so I got to do a few small practical things with him. Quite interesting but obviously I've still got two years before uni!!

Definitely not good.... Felt bad after my race yesterday and then had a party last night followed by a sleepover with some mates, and today I've felt progressively worse throughout the day! Whole body aching, eating a minimum (fruit salad and ice cream for tea) and a very sore throat. Slept from about 5:30 to 8 this evening... Still not any better -.-

Good pace with Tigers. Was going to go with Jackals but decided that because of another hard race on Sunday, and considering I did intervals on Tuesday as well, I'd go for the easier group tonight. A few tough hills but felt good!

U16 - 8 minute run, anywheres (1min), squat jumps (1min). Pretty painful first half hour.... Then played killer (a shooting game) which I jointly won!
Then gave myself a half hour rest to do my English homework.
Seniors just played matches for the hour, after 10 mins of a drill with centre court players.

Southern Champs, Sheepleas and Netley Heath. W18E, 7.7km.
Started off a bit nervous about the distance, but knew Id just have to face the fact that this is what Im gonna get now as a W18!
#1 I just got into the scale (1:15000 now as well:O). #2 I overestimated the distance and saw the control but thought it was too soon, so carried on until realised that it was mine-.- Lost~2mins. Up the hill to #5 my tight calves spread to my feet making it extremely painful just to move... Reached the top and saw Emma Harrison (caught me 4mins) and we ended up together for the rest of the course. #5 I went in too soon and faffed around in the grot for a bit. Lost~1.5mins. All the rest were fine, I was just slow and tired-.- Need to do more long runs to get used to the distance!! And maybe a calf massage is needed.

MVOC, The Nower. Course 2 - 2.7km.
Easy area so no mistakes, apart from losing concentration when happily running along a big path and then realising id run 15m past the control.. Oops.... Plan was to keep up with dad when he overtook me (he started 1 min behind me) and he did at #5 but I decided I didnt really want to push that bit harder to keep with him. So I stayed at a very comfortable pace the whole way round. Need the energy for tomorrow.... First W18.

First half an hour was just U16. 8 minute run at varying intensities. Then a shooting thing where we had to run 5 widths of the court and then have a shot - more about the running than shooting this, though. Then half an hour of a 'defence clinic'. Last hour matches, playing for seniors. Good, hard session tonight but my chest felt painfully tight during the 8 minute run! Eased off later.

Dramatic match with a lady falling over right in the first quarter and having a possible broken coccyx... She fell backwards so I'm just thanking God it wasn't her head!! Anyway, this actually resulted in them only having 6 players for a quarter and a bit and I was the one unmarked! Made the game so much easier for me. Such a close match, though, and a missed shot by us right near the end basically gave them the win... We lost 32-34 :(

First U16 match in aaages! Vs Twinkles. C for the first quarter, WA for third and C for last. Played terrible in the first.... Got into WA in the third and played much better in the last! I felt abso shattered though. Probably the training yesterday :/ We won:D 31-10
