Orienteering race (NOY 1) 52:41 [5] **** 6.64 km (7:56 / km) +277m 6:34 / km

Had a fairly good run except for a shocker at 6. I lost map to ground contact as I was coming in to the control and then lost 6 minutes trying to figure out where I was. I think most of my problem was not reading the fine detail of the map and I had been ignoring the trails as there were too many of them. Finally sorted myself out using a track and the rock face in the northern creek. I was also indecisive on how to get to 1, and a little bit off on 7 and 8. Overall not too bad, but I really need to work on my endurance and speed. Making a running schedule would be helpful with that!

Orienteering race (Newy Night Champs) 26:58 [5] *** 5.0 km (5:24 / km) +150m 4:41 / km

Not too bad for a night event. Routegadget was a little bit fiddly and I had to put add a lot of points to get my gps route to be anywhere close to where I went on the map (adding points for the controls usually does really well but for some legs where I ran on a road or path I had to put multiple points between controls). I'm not sure if it's a map, a gps, or a routegadget issue, but I'm pretty sure that what is up now is close (except for 18-19 as I stayed low next to the trail). I'm also not sure if I accidentally took the less direct northern trail from 13 to 14. I had just twisted my ankle and was paying close attention to my footing as the trail was pretty washed out.
