Day 2. Not as solid navigationally as Day 1. I had a really strange error on the tenth control where my distance was way off. I should have realized much earlier that I had passed the control... It was pretty tough running the first half of the course where the majority of the climb was. The second half was such a joy in the marshy area with form line hills. Everything clicked for me in that area and I could speed through eleven to the finish.

First day of the Scottish Six Days!
I went into this race wanting to only focus on my navigation, and that's how I started off woohoo! But after nailing the first few controls I decided to pick up my speed a little bit. I was slightly off to the left on four but I was doing a good job keeping my head up and spotted the control before I got pulled too far off. Had a bobble on 10 when I ran to the wrong patch of green. I should've been looking for the contour feature the control was on, not the vegetation around it. The second half of the course was very physical, but I did a good job pushing through it and staying in contact with the map despite my oxygen-deprived brain.
I ended up 11/49ish ~7 mins back from the leader. I'm happy with that result but I will be looking for cleaner races the rest of this week.

Orienteering 19:00 [3] 2.91 km (6:32 / km) +68m 5:51 / km

Fun sprint in Stirling with Emma. We had two long legs that required some difficult decision making. Emma caught me after the longest leg. She went low and I did some extra climb which was dumb. My legs were pretty tired from our hike yesterday.

Running warm up/down 2:39 [2] 0.31 mi (8:33 / mi)

Strength 15:00 [3]

Core, glutes, hamstrings, hips (ouch), arms.

I noticed some hip pain near the end of the upwards portion, but after resting and snacking at the top it went away. I didn't feel it at all on the way down. (phew)
