Run 5:02 [1] 0.58 mi (8:41 / mi) +26m 7:37 / mi
ahr:96 max:101

Quick warm-up around the hill.

Orienteering 25:36 [3] 2.36 mi (10:51 / mi) +85m 9:46 / mi
ahr:122 max:153

Kind of an odd course, and one that I didn't run well. Went to 11 on the way to 4 (not a huge loss) and then 9 was hung in the wrong place and I lost 2.5m on that like a bunch of others. Or was hung in the right place but the map leaves something to be desired. Then legs felt tired on the way back up the hill, and 15 was sort of silly as an out-and-back. Not a ton of route choice.

But there was pizza after.

Orienteering 11:32 [1] 0.85 mi (13:34 / mi) +33m 12:08 / mi
ahr:130 max:176

Control pick-up. Watch didn't show it started but then did record, or something.

Run 2:38 [1] 0.27 mi (9:45 / mi)
ahr:100 max:104

Run to train, which I didn't quite start in time, but made it in plenty of time to get on a new train.

Run 10:52 [1] 1.23 mi (8:50 / mi)

Run to NP. Backpack day. Raining. Used my running pack to keep things dry.

Stadiums 39:11 [1] 1.13 mi (34:40 / mi) +524m 14:12 / mi
ahr:127 max:129

Legs we so tired. 40 miles on a bike plus a 10 lb pack. Did a stadium, and that's it.

Plan was to go back to Elena's, shower, go to H Mart and Market Basket, but I realized that I had Elena's key but had to go to JP to get some paperwork I'd forgotten, she was out on a run, so I went and met her, then biked to JP, then to the appointment, where it turned out I didn't need the paperwork.

So I am going to wind up biking like 22 miles today on BlueBikes.

Bicycle 2:19:38 [1] 37.88 mi (3:41 / mi) +409m 3:34 / mi
ahr:111 max:187

After work ride, which was mostly nice. Great weather for it, and the traffic to the bike path was only somewhat frustrating (trying to stay off roads going outbound at rush hour where possible). Then out the bike path, down through Lincoln and Weston (nice, but should have more housing) and then back on Beacon.

Three observations:

1. In Cambridge, I almost got right-hooked. But the woman riding in front of me really almost got right-hooked. I read the livery driver (of course) the riot act about using his goddamn turn signal.

2. I counted people biking and their gender expression. There were an even number of men and women (35/35) between JP and Arlington Center. But then on the bike path there were way more men than women (16/56).

3. I headed across Park Road in Weston behind a larger rider. His watt/kg ratio was not so great. But then we crested over the Turnpike and he came flying by. Holy moly potential energy. Once it flattened out past Ski Track, watt/kg again owned the day.

Run 31:11 [1] 3.9 mi (8:00 / mi) +47m 7:43 / mi
ahr:183 max:191

Wow, garbage GPS today. But lovely flowers.

Adjusted distance down a bit.

Trail Run 3:53:00 [1] 7.85 mi (29:41 / mi) +1263m 19:47 / mi

Madhaus! Elena and I went back via NH and ran up the Airline, then across to the Madhaüs, and up Madison (original plan was Adams, but it was quite windy). Airline is hard!

The 3 miles between Sylvan Way and Airline Cutoff gains 3400 feet. That would be a pretty nice VK. Finish line at the cutoff, soup at the hut.

Caught up with the croo on the way down, ate a baked good, then Elena asked about pack boards. I shouldered one and told her to hop on and gave her a ride around the hut. The assorted goofers were not not entertained.

Down, took Fallsway near the end. Discovered I need an app to control the shutter speed on the iPhone.

Rollerski 1:04:12 [1] 10.03 mi (6:24 / mi) +228m 5:59 / mi
ahr:59 max:70

First roll back. The clouds parted for the roll and I headed out to Sturtevant Hill Road which is fully repaved and very nice. Minimal traffic, good, varying hills, and a 9+ mile roundtrip. I should go and scout Route 41 which would make a nice loop back to Readfield (and then up the Church Road and down Thundercastle, perhaps). And a 5 minute drive from camp! Mostly double-poling, skating up some of the steeper hills. Legs (and arms!) not ready for this.

On the downhills one of the skis was tracking very badly. The wheel looks like it's in rough shape. It might be time for some new wheels for the rear. The skis might be unbalanced, or I might sit too far back rollerskiing.

Paddling 49:42 [1] 2.59 mi (19:11 / mi)
ahr:80 max:116

Heading out around the lake on a windy day!

Run 58:38 [1] 6.56 mi (8:56 / mi) +35m 8:48 / mi
ahr:165 max:193

Jogaroo with Elena and a friend of hers, nice easy pace although pushing a bit so she wouldn't be too late for a meeting. Nice San Diego weather (her friend is a visiting fellow from UCSD specializing in Ukrainian stuff … interesting chats on the run!
