NSW Junior Athletics Championships. Day 3/3. Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. 7.45am-5.15pm. 25°C.
The sun managed to come out and the rain stayed away for most of the day (4mm). One DQ for a lane infringement in the boy's para 200 (WPA 18.5). Jerome often has trouble finishing the bend and turned in a lane too soon. Kim (CD) said my umpires should have written an incident report about another para athlete who started in lane 4, ran into lane 5, and back to lane 4 on the first bend of an 800. But he did not obstruct anyone or break any rules. We see similar things all the time and nobody is ever interested. Pointless nit-picking over the radio while the race was in progress!

NSW Junior Athletics Championships. Day 2/3. Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. 8am-5pm. 22°C.
More rain throughout the day (13mm). Managed to stay under shelter at the finish line during the worst of it. Electronic lapboard stopped working during the 1500s - probably waterlogged. SOPAC had to replace the keypad. No reports received. More useful feedback from John.
Today's events: 100m (49), 200m hurdles (4), 400m (12), 1500m (18), 3000m walks (2).

NSW Junior Athletics Championships. Day 1/3. Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. 12-9.15pm. 24°C. Rain (61mm).
Weather atrocious. Probably more technically difficult than last weekend due to the multiple age groups. Two DQs for lane infringements in the 400 heats TR17.3.1 & WPA18.5 (both U17s). Interesting DQ by the competition director under TR20.7 for an U18 boy who ran ran in the wrong 400m race and age group. Should have been picked up by the starters.
Today's events: hurdles (22), 100m (6), 400m (24), 3000m runs (9), 5000m walk (1).

Turner trails, Berowra. Reverse of my run from 2 weeks ago - this time wearing O shoes. Good grip on the rocks, especially after the rain (29mm), but my feet felt heavier. Got my altitude/barometric sensor working again on the Garmin but the temperature sensor seems stuck on 31C. Looking forward to tonight's Midnight Oil concert in Newcastle. 24°C. TE 2.8.

Didn't go hard because my legs are still recovering from standing up for 3 days at athletics. Traction much better today. Completed Impossible Hills #2 & #3. For some reason the Garmin ABC didn't work so no elevation or temperature data. 26°C. TE 2.4.
