"Resurrection", Beerburrum West State Forest QLD. M50/Course 3: 26.9km, +405m, 16c. MP again. It seems I punched another control near my #3. On the master map the two control circles intersected. So my race was over inside 23' but I still flogged myself for another 2+ hours. Tough conditions: knee-deep water, sticky mud, slippery mud, soft sand and tracks that appear to be defined by the fact that someone walked through there once. Glad I wore my O-gaiters of my shins. 16°C. TE 2.9.
#1 - missed overgrown track entry (lost 2:30). #2 - OK. #3 - MP (3 others made the same mistake). #4 - overshot track entry (-1:45). #5/6/7- OK. #8 - poor route choice, lots of water (-4:30). #9 - missed track entry (-3'). #10 - OK. #11 - too early (-4'). #12 to #F - All OK. Best leg on C3: #7 (4th/14). Best pos: 8th/14 (#2).

"St Pauls School", Bald Hills QLD. M50/Course 2: 7.4km, +7m, 20c. MP - rode from #6 to #8, missing #7 completely. Damn! I though I was on a good ride. Only trouble was reading #19 as #14 (lost 40") and overshooting #20 (-20"). I think I may have finished 6th this morning if I had not missed #7. Quite complex in the school buildings. Stairs were a challenge. 18°C. TE 3.4.

"Slickers", Kurwongbah QLD. M50/Course 2: 14.8km, +300m, 14c. 8th/11 (31:36 behind Craig Steffens). 16th/23 on C2. Lots of open areas (yellow & scattered trees) that we were allowed to ride across. Didn't really use this to the best advantage. Some bad route choices (#5, #7). it was strange to have 4 controls not placed on tracks. Hard to switch to foot-O nav techiques whilst on a bike. Best leg/pos: #1 (4th/23). 22°C. TE 3.5.

Drive from Woodburn NSW to Dakabin QLD via Beerburrum. Woke up at 6.20am because some idiot was hammering nails outside my motel window. (394km, 5 hours).

Dakabin QLD. Unable to find the practice event site at Beerburrum. No signage. Tracks looked very dodgy. Instead, I found some tracks out the back of our event accommodation venue. Came a cropper riding through a field of large pine cones on a single track. One got stuck in my spokes. 21°C. TE 1.6.

Ended up getting the flat tyre repaired for $35 before I took the rental back to Europcar. Still don't know what they would have charged me.
