Orienteering 2:40:00 [3] 14.3 km (11:11 / km) +675m 9:03 / km
shoes: 2013 VJ Supra

Race the Castles Classic - Balmoral Estate.

Can happily 'run' this distance but not in shape to consider racing it. Terrain generally very nice except the slope next to assembly, a few stony/rocky areas too. Navigation was pretty average and lost some fair chunks of time. Sub 2h30 certainly achievable, but was enjoying the nice bits of terrain and thinking about the running too much, rather than concentrating on the navigation.

Orienteering 38:00 [3]
shoes: La Sportiva C-Lite

JOK Chasing Sprint Prologue - Birsemore.

Completely messed up the downhill cross-slope leg and generally overly hesitant and not feeling particularly fast...

Ilam 12 miler + map hunt. Group split at Ladyside and took the straight down-and-up to Wetton rather than the 16 mile route via Ecton. Stopped for a photo at the bottom of Hall Dale, put the map on the bench arm then ran off without it. Got back to Ilam before I realised (20.65k, 3:19, ahr 140)...

So went back, thinking I'd left it later in the run, before twigging and going all the way back (including passing the 16 mile gang). To find it was no longer there. Someone got a bit of a bonus today, and I've probably earnt myself a prize at our annual dinner. (9.1k, 52:30, ahr 175). Body was a bit tired at the end of this.

Good day for it again - bit of a cloud/fog/mist inversion early on was very picturesque.
