Orienteering race 36:53 [3] 4.2 km (8:47 / km) +215m 7:00 / km

Orienteering race 1:26:48 [3] 10.6 km (8:11 / km) +275m 7:15 / km

Scottish Champs M40 race at Ardnaskie. Took it carefully which worked well. Only minor wobbles and a shoe-lace stop. Caught by Pete Tryner SYO from 8 mins back about 2/3 round but had him in sight to the finish and with Roger running elite, left with a large piece of silverware ;-)

Running 1:09:18 [3] 10.2 km (6:48 / km)

Jog from Bishopbriggs to Milton of Campsie to retrieve car from party last night. Was meant to be from Lenzie but train broke down...

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

Training exercise at Croy planned by Patrick, with gaps in the map. Poor distance and direction at the start but improved towards the end. Good practice.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3] 6.0 km (15:00 / km) +100m 13:51 / km

Planning at Glennifer, in the driving rain. Great fun.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)

Various control putting out and collecting in the West End.

Orienteering race 36:53 [3] 3.5 km (10:32 / km) +200m 8:12 / km

FVO evening race at Hermitage Woods. Pretty clean run, maybe didn't take the best route on the long leg. Glorious bluebells in the woodland. One min behind Brad, 11 seconds ahead of Max!

Orienteering 40:00 [3] 6.65 km (6:01 / km)

Test running West End long course for Thursday, to get yesterday's nonsense out my system. Feeling better reflecting on my sprint result.

Orienteering race 1:25:00 [3] 9.44 km (9:00 / km)

British Middle Champs nr High Wycombe. A total waste of time and money, couldn't make any sense of the map and the race was all over at #4 with 10 minutes of circling around aimlessly. Another similar episode near the end, resulting in my worst result for years. Really fed up now after yesterday's good result, just can't get any consistency. 9.5k on a 5.5k course!

Orienteering race 19:02 [3] 3.47 km (5:29 / km)

British Sprints Qualifier at Aldershot Garrison SE. Kept my head in a really tricky area with lots of impassable corners between buildings, some hesitation but steady and clean was the right tactic here, and pleased to qualify for the A final with 4th place in my heat.

Orienteering race 17:19 [3] 3.34 km (5:11 / km)

British Sprint Final, Aldershot Garrison N. Quite a different area with bigger buildings, fences and woodland route choice. Maybe one or two sub-optimal route choices but pleased with my decision making overall and kept it together apart from a 10 second banana towards and away from a fence right at the end. 7th out of 15. Missed 6th by one second but would have taken top ten beforehand so well pleased, as this is my best ever British result (at any distance). And a 'championship' time, whatever that means.

Orienteering 22:14 [3] 4.08 km (5:27 / km)

West End sprint training to get my head into sprint scale and technique. And it worked, thank you Patrick!

Orienteering race 45:05 [3] 6.45 km (6:59 / km)

Stag evening event at Dalzell Estate. Feeling jaded after a bug in midweek and tailed off badly in the second half.
