Two loops around Castle Coch from the Sculpture Trail car park at the top of the hill, so effectively down and up x 2. After a walk with and whilst Charlie and Daniel were splashing around in the hotel swimming pool. Follwed by playing and early Fathers Day tea.
MLS Event at Bagshot Heath. A poor result....it was a very hot and humid day. The car reckoned in was 33 but probably high 20's. Its an area that for some reason I find tricky both to interpret the map and the ground. There is a lot of undergrowth. No 4 lost 6 minutes looking for a bush and whilst it was not a great site, where I convinced myself it definitely should be was too low. An inauspicious start. I also lost 3mins at no 15 misreading the map and getting into the far side of some horrid grot and another 3 mins at no 16 with a parallel track issue. There were also a couple of controls 11 and 17 where it was just difficult to see the flag in the undergrowth. But there were some bits where I was in control, kept going ok and did really enjoy being out in the wood competing . So not without hope
Purdown, today was to be the hotest day so went out early. Fell over the early starters in an orienteering event. (Never quite sure why BOK persist in mid summer events here, very picturesque but much of the woodland buried in vegetation). Diverted through the estate on way back, so a bit under distance
