Training Log Archive: Old Daniel

Ran from Upton Cheyney as BH and not much chance of parking at Swineford. Quite adventurous as the bull was stood at the style blocking the way -spent some time trying to force an alternative without success. A bloke from Bitton Road runners came the other way and eased his way passed. "He is quite docile"....so I squeezed passed but have had to guess at wasted time unlike when I ended up pushing a blokes car, waiting for Postman Pat to pass (remarkable how many times I see him on this stretch) horse riders etc. In between ran through North Stoke, race course, Landgridge Church, Battlefield and back down the lane (passed a sign which said bull in field -there wasn't) -really nice sunny day

Kenfig, some technical training, very slow but going carefully

Ran with Mark and Alice at Wentwood in nice warm sunshine for a tour which included bluebells, a six hundred year old oak, and no shortage of climb. Really nice way to spend a morning

Swineford, North Stoke, Race course, Langridge Church, Battlefield and back through fields and North Stoke. 10 mins slower than I have done this but running conditions harder in particular the down hill, cows and hoof ruts, slippery, wet etc. by knees were uncomfortable so lots of scope for excuses.
Actually seemed to be ok on hills and time was better than I feared.

Eventually went out by which time it was raining quite hard and was quite cold -more like November than May. Not very keen so just a bit of a plod but I did pick up a bit before the end. Failed to start watch or note time and non standrad route around Frenchay, Oldbury Court and Purdown so all a bit of a guess

Could have run today but weather was not great and I had no enthusiasm.

Warm up

Chiltern Challenge at Hambledon. Ran Short Blue has had entered my class. It was very disappointing, the race and area were fine but I was really just awful. The bits I did ok on I was slow, and I made two pretty stupid mistakes and was slow to recover even though I bailed out re-located and attacked again. Don't really know why and not easy to find positives
