hill efforts 1:04:25 [4] 5.0 mi (12:53 / mi)

Felt a bit milder today, maybe still low temperature but no wind. Grey but not unpleasant as a result a reminder of why I have been tending to avoid Purdown at the weekend. Ran 6 x Daffodil Hill which I found quite "challenging" so trip back quite slow. Session completed though!

off road 1:06:44 [3] 6.0 mi (11:07 / mi)

Standard Purdown route, still cold but not quite freezing today which made some of the going treacherous. Ran some sections quicker, in part, as other faster runners around to chase. Again pleased with time and felt as though I had worked quite hard afterwards

Thursday Jan 7, 2021 #

off road 1:05:52 [3] 6.0 mi (10:59 / mi)

Freezing and fog, lasting all day, so waited till late pm to do the Purdown standard route. Rock hard underfoot so able to run much quicker than of late. Very pleased (and a bit surprised with this time)

Wednesday Jan 6, 2021 #

off road 1:11:27 [3] 6.0 mi (11:55 / mi)

Standard Purdown route on another cold and grey and windy day. (One degree and wind chill) So still lots of layers and still a mix of frozen and slippery, and RHS knee still sore..... but a bit less muddy and definitely felt progress was a bit better than of late.

off road 1:17:49 [3] 6.5 mi (11:58 / mi)

Ran from Combe Dingle up valley and up Colin's Hill round the Castle, along the leg and then normal. So similar route but sections in a different order. Quite tired by the end so must have ben trying a bit. Still cold be maybe just a tiny bit milder today

off road 1:52:00 [3] 8.4 mi (13:20 / mi)

Ran from the lower car park with Chris and Helen. Chatted all the way round which was fortunate as there was a clear chasm to between Chris's fitness and mine. Really enjoyed the company a bit less wet across the Somme (although it might be a bit tricky to convince Helen. Many layers which were welcome as strong wind on top was bitter and no encouraging to stop and admire the view, although the dark winter colours have there own charm. Helen had brought coffee and cake. It might seem madness to do this in a freezing car park but cafes closed under Tier 3. The day was well chosen as I had scarcely warmed up before a new national lock down was announced
