off road 59:58 [2] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

Did not fancy running much today and had been to look at an orienteering area in the morning, So just going through the motions in the local woods

Blaise Castle. I forgot my running shoes, Fortunately I have an old pair in the boot. They were so comfortable that I ran them into the ground. I then ran into some difficulty with the new pair so they were resurrected to rotate and did some more miles. They are now completely broken and very sloppy. Not great to run in so cut the faster bits out and add a hill to get some training benefit

off road 1:02:10 [3] 6.0 mi (10:22 / mi)

A wetter day so Leigh Woods. I decided to do the longer run which I have not done for years, so a little restrained to start with but then on automatic pilot missed the turn and stayed with standard . When I realised rather than retrace steps (its there for another day) cracked on and the time was fine

off road 1:30:32 [3] 9.0 mi (10:04 / mi)

Ran from Cold Ashton, in retrospect I had slept well, it was nice and sunny, it felt good to be alive and out in the countryside. I just felt much more spritely that of late and was really enjoying running again. The route including the cow meadows are getting a bit muddier and so a bit slower but still pretty good conditions, it can be a really tough to keep going in the winter mud bath. On the hill I realised that 92 or (even sub 90) was an (outside) possibility and really gave it a go and came quite close. Surprised and pleased with this.

Monday Aug 31, 2020 #

off road 1:02:03 [3] 5.5 mi (11:17 / mi)

A loop of Ashton Court after re-planning Orange and Yellow. The council have mowed, obscuring the previously clear paths with hay. Landowners always seem to find a way of introducing late change.
Slow again, not much zip but nice morning
Lots of volume and enjoyable runs in August but perhaps lacking a bit in quality.

Sunday Aug 30, 2020 #

off road 2:40:00 [3] 13.3 mi (12:02 / mi)

Run with Dave and Celia from Bishops Canning. Route included the Wansdyke and back along the canal. With many view stops on a very pleasant morning. It seems like we have discovered a new hobby of countryside exploration which I rather like.
