orienteering 1:01:45 [3] 7.0 km (8:49 / km)

Pomfrey, Rodway Common and Warrmley forest park. Quite tired and sluggish but did get out. Windy but avoided showers

Friday May 22, 2020 #

off road 1:03:07 [3] 6.0 mi (10:31 / mi)

Purdown, standard route. Had not originally intended to do this but a bit tired and body ached. Quite windy and lots of stops, not trying particularly hard more going through the motions and clocking up some miles So overall ok with the time

off road 1:08:15 [4] 7.0 mi (9:45 / mi)

Portbury run. Ran before it was hot, bone dry, concentration good, some of the styles had been cleared so was hoping for a good time. Really enjoyed the run but when I looked at the time and it was 8xx I was a bit down 5xx would have been good. I had felt recently that I might have just dropped of a peak - its quite hard to keep momentum without races or running with chums and a few runs recently have been sluggish, so pondered a few tweaks to the training to freshen up. Grump.....
Its good to keep a training diary -its one of my pearls of wisdom for example you can look back to the last couple of times you did this run and see you did 75xx and 78xx albeit in slightly more adverse circumstances and this run was probably as quick as I had done for some time and I should be on a high

off road 1:08:00 [3] 6.1 mi (11:09 / mi)

Ran in the heat of quite a hot day. Went over to Combe Dingle and explored a route around Sea Mills and Penpole that minimised time in the busy park. Really a potter, did not time the run properly -probably a bit under 70 mins or the distance a bit over 6 miles

Tuesday May 19, 2020 #

off road 1:03:16 [3] 6.0 mi (10:33 / mi)

Purdown standard route, quite a warm sunny day. Did not try particularly hard and not a great time but also quite a few significant diversions. Some pain but in LHS knee so did not push particularly in last mile. Strange things knees

Monday May 18, 2020 #

off road 1:38:51 [3] 9.0 mi (10:59 / mi)

I attempted to run earlier but RHS knee bad so abandoned Ibuprofen and ran pm
Cold Ashton warm sunny day, doing well until Limestone Link where I missed entry to wood where path meets stream. Struggled up and down hill in heavy cattle ruts so took 3 mins off watch time

Sunday May 17, 2020 #

off road 1:19:03 [3] 8.0 mi (9:53 / mi)

CW old standard route north from the Dog. Conditions ideal for running, lots of people out including runners but no issues in passing people. Time at the turn was 40.27 which I think was pretty similar to when I used to do this run
I met Matt Pickering who was starting quite along out and back.
I hope he enjoyed the Spring Countryside as much as I did.
