Standard warm up
2 AM

orienteering 41:04 [5] 3.9 km (10:32 / km)

NGOC Middle Race at Knockalls. Started fine if slowly over slippery and steep hillside. All went pretty well and in control to 13 where I made a faff but did not lose much time, however did make a complete horlicks of the next one (2+ mins) which was a shame because otherwise quite pleased. Nice to do a different discipline.
The weather has changed and it was a bright clear frosty winters day, good to be out

Friday Jan 17, 2020 #

off road 1:45:00 [3] 9.0 mi (11:40 / mi)

Run with Alice (no Mark as he has sprained ankle) from Chepstow Leisure centre. North out along Wye way then back through fields.
Nice run through new terrain. I just had a little ankle turn on some rocky steps but it ran off

off road 1:04:10 [3] 6.0 mi (10:42 / mi)

Blaise Castle -very muddy and so slipping around in quite flat shoes, running quite hard particularly later on. Good to be out

Controlling 1:30:00 [1] 7.0 km (12:51 / km)

Long day out in the forest but by starting early only got soaked at the end.
Ankle quite sore, changed shoes for semi-urban section and better .

Standard warm up

orienteering race 1:08:08 [5] 7.5 km (9:05 / km)

West Woods Gallopen. .Some of forest is now quite rough but other areas still a delight, Race mostly ok got screwed up in some horrible grot on a long leg late on, when a round path route which I spurned would have suited me better
Course quite enjoyable but actually a couple of Km short which was a shame as I was quite enjoying it!
