1 AM

road run 17:00 [3] 1.2 km (14:10 / km)

Good warm up
2 AM

orienteering race 1:48:30 [5] 8.1 km (13:24 / km)

NGOC Soudley Ponds, not run here for some time but very typical forest of Dean, mostly White forest with little bramble but brashing and quite a lot of climb -somewhat reminiscent of Headless Hill. Started well and took a good route and attackpoint to 3 but could not find control. I found adjacent platform but no re-entrant up to path, relocated and back found platform (again) but no re-entrant, getting very reminiscent of Headless Hill, its got to be here and there it is just behind a tree in a scoop of earth. I suspect 5 mins binned, perhaps need a bit more self belief. Inevitably lost time at 4, confused by large (two story) hide and 8 which seemed along way down the hill, so had taken just under an hour at half way but ran better and pleased with endurance in the second part. Pulled up a few places to avoid being last
3 AM

orienteering race 1:23:01 [4] 6.5 km (12:46 / km)

WNL Event at Kenfig. Two halves to this race, the first part was quite enjoyable, true I was quite slow and did have an error at 230 and also missed out 220. Then needed to cut short and get back -had to go around flooding through 211 and 216. Second half not so good or enjoyable, Really needed to get back now, so despite being weary ran as hard as I could east, more flooding, out of contact with map and seeming to go on and on must be nearly there, soft sand sapping...….soft sand???? Oh my gosh (or words to that effect) as the realisation kicked in I have gone west (how) and now face a 2 km slog back through all those floods. Really in survival mode reading, picked up 3 controls really just to confirm route, kept running but on knees by end

Note

Two days without running in part not feeling great but also pre-occupied.
Part of this is administrative duties for BOK.
There is a resistance to even consider change, well really change of any type.
We are really short of volunteers to take many key roles, so is my suggestion that we ask too much of our members and perhaps we could run events, our biggest drain, with similar numbers to our neighbours???.....How about getting more 'value' from the events we do put on ???...…
I knew it would be very frustrating and am being proved right

1 AM

road run 12:00 [3] 0.8 km (15:00 / km)

Warm up
2 AM

orienteering race 1:09:38 [5] 8.0 km (8:42 / km)

MLS at Henley Gate - postage stamp sized and nor particularly technical but pleasant enough. 4 very different loops of 2k. Ran sequence of CDAB. Some hesitations and small wobbles but in general not too bad nor specially good

Note

I am at the stage that I am not sure if I have a cold or not. Decided I did not so went to BOK run partly because its been a pretty rubbish day and a run might improve. After a series of adventures on route I arrived too late to run let alone to get changed. warm up and run so decided cold too bad and came home.
Feels that this indecisive I may end up voting Lib Dem or maybe not????

Monday Dec 2, 2019 #

orienteering 56:14 [3] 5.0 mi (11:15 / mi)

Purdown, cold day and set out overdressed. Feeling a bit rubbish all day so just went through motions, cutting out all but one hill

Sunday Dec 1, 2019 #

1 AM

off road 10:00 [2] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)

Warm up (but not the greatest)
2 AM

orienteering race 1:05:14 [5] 7.1 km (9:11 / km)

Southern Champs at Moseley Green/ Cannop Ponds, Ran pretty hard, no big mistakes so quite pleased with performance but a little disappointed as a long way down the field and a long way behind the leader. Forest very wet, slippy and muddy. perhaps one of those odd days when it was bad news to start late
Good to run in the Forest of Dean
3 AM

Controlling 35:00 [2] 2.0 km (17:30 / km)

Collecting a few controls late in the day
