off road 1:28:30 [3] 7.5 mi (11:48 / mi)

CW Wootton under Edge to Alderley -just past (44mims) & back. In truth did not get quite as far as I expected in the time. There is a lot of climb -in particular I had forgotten quite how testing the climb out of Wootton is. Breathing bad here but the return ascent (less steep) was really quite comfortable. Knees not great on steep descent. Post run Ipobrufen.

Good day for running

Bradley Stoke. Ifor took in a run around 1 mile in Aztec. Did not feel good before we started -ran out of breath straight away- rest purgatory as lads ran into the distance. Stomach awful by end - I had to go home -no running for a few days

orienteering race 1:18:30 [5] 9.0 km (8:43 / km)

Everleigh -Sarum gallopen- normally enjoy these more cross country running type of orienteering. Run around the fields and paths and find a handful of controls in spikey green. Its a type of orienteering and its the contrasts that add to the sports fascination.
This proved to be a race too much -just could not get any pace going- as per British needed recovery day(s) after running in the terrain. Time was not helped by missing no 4 (just by the path) could not see it- decided I must be in the wrong block and went out and back in. Perhaps a little further from the open?? (2+mins). At no.6 I ran out along the open and then bent with the dog leg -suddenly 90 degrees wrong (1-2 mins) and retraced steps and at 23 came out onto wrong path and turned left rather than right -tired (getting on for 3 mins?)
Don't suppose anybody else had any errors at all -it should have been quite straight forward.
