off road 1:15:00 [3] 6.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

Picnic with the Kelsey's and Simmons on Priddy Green. Proper warn sunny Spring/ Summer day. As a prologue a trip down and back up Ebor Gorge. View really good. All just excellent

Monday Mar 29, 2021 #

off road 1:37:34 [3] 9.0 mi (10:50 / mi)

Ran from Swineford across racecourse, down to Landridge Church and back round the Battlefield then through the fields and North Stoke. Dry, mild but grey....sun came out later.

Sunday Mar 28, 2021 #

hill efforts 1:01:39 [3] 5.5 mi (11:13 / mi)

6 x Daffodil Hill. Difficult to avoid the general public but this time tried in and out of the "back gate"

Saturday Mar 27, 2021 #

off road 1:25:16 [3] 8.0 mi (10:39 / mi)

Begbrook, Frenchay, Oldbury Court, Eastville Park and Purdown. Mostly pretty straight but a loop up the Frenchay Hill and included Daffodil Hill

Friday Mar 26, 2021 #

off road 20:00 [2] 1.5 mi (13:20 / mi)

I had got time to squeeze in a short run. Actually had just about warmed up but not feeling right so cut straight back -probably a good idea as session would have been a token effort anyway

Thursday Mar 25, 2021 #

1 AM

road run 30:21 [3] 3.0 mi (10:07 / mi)

Turns out that the last trip to the Mazda dealer to do the mandatory work was not quite as successful as the man at the desk thought as they did not have the new part so had not done the work, so need for Plan B.
2 AM

road run 27:05 [3] 3.0 mi (9:02 / mi)

Tried to run a bit quicker on way back down....not terribly stylish!

Wednesday Mar 24, 2021 #

off road 1:02:45 [3] 6.0 mi (10:28 / mi)

I went to Leigh Woods as forecast was quite indifferent. It turned out to be a really nice day with good running conditions. Ran in my O shoes because I became aware of a sore patch on my right heel. These shoes rubbed by LHS little toe....ah well

Tuesday Mar 23, 2021 #

off road 52:42 [3] 4.0 mi (13:11 / mi)

Oldbury Court 13 x 2 mins with 90 secs. Getting further than previous in good conditions, which is pleasing

Monday Mar 22, 2021 #

off road 58:37 [3] 6.0 mi (9:46 / mi)

In a rush to add this one to the log as its a sub 60 clocking and there are not going to be too many of those. A bit disjointed with several stops for dogs etc. mostly timed out but you do get a short rest also a small corner cut but all taking into account the watch time is representative and it was definitely sub 60 and there won't be many of those. Conditions ideal; mild, no wind, no mud but not rock hard. Started quite quickly and running, particularly breathing, seemed much easier than of late - its really good to get a day that is encouraging.

Sunday Mar 21, 2021 #

off road 1:38:58 [3] 9.0 mi (11:00 / mi)

Ran from Upton Cheyney rather than Swineford as car park was full. So started running down the hill, then up to race course, past Langridge Church and back round the Battlefield. Nice sunny spring day and ideal conditions. Did find both the hills challenging and put in quite a bit of effort. 4 mins slower than last May but probably as good as I could do at the moment

Saturday Mar 20, 2021 #

hill efforts 1:04:30 [3] 5.5 mi (11:44 / mi)

Daffodil Hill 6x -no wind, not muddy so no excuses

Thursday Mar 18, 2021 #

off road 1:35:00 [3] 8.0 mi (11:52 / mi)

Crooks Peak, Wavering Down across A38 up other side and back along the rhyne. Really found hills challenging and tired later in the day

Wednesday Mar 17, 2021 #

flat efforts 53:30 [3] 4.0 mi (13:23 / mi)

Not the sunny day I expected but still mild and dry. 13 x2 mins with 90 secs in Oldbury Court. Tried for a reasonable quality in the first few which resulted in the later few being a bit rubbish. Breathing is an issue.

Tuesday Mar 16, 2021 #

off road 1:22:29 [3] 8.0 mi (10:19 / mi)

Another sunny spring day, so T shirt and shorts: Begbrook, Frenchhay, Oldbury Court, Frome Valley, Eastville and straight back through Purdown. Easy conditions but shortage of stamina led to trying towards end. So good to be out running on days like today

Monday Mar 15, 2021 #

off road 1:00:17 [4] 6.0 mi (10:03 / mi)

Pretty much a perfect Spring day for running, must have been mid teens and a breeze rather than a wind to battle, much of the excessive mud had dried out but still reasonably soft. Going hard for the first 2/3rds but having to hang on towards the end, almost but not sub 60 but still a really good and pleasing time. Hot, sweaty and generally knackered afterwards

Sunday Mar 14, 2021 #

off road 1:08:08 [4] 7.0 mi (9:44 / mi)

Run from Portbury, good running weather and quite pleased with the time particularly as there were still a few muddy sections. Was having to fight a bit in the last mile -in part due to wind direction?

Saturday Mar 13, 2021 #

hill efforts 1:05:28 [3] 5.5 mi (11:54 / mi)

6x Daffodil Hill . Certainly feeling a bit better but not really fancying very far or running harder. Efforts not to bad in part because of strong tail wind

Thursday Mar 11, 2021 #

off road 49:07 [3] 4.5 mi (10:55 / mi)

Still got a cold ans still taking it gently. Begbrook/ Frenchay/ Oldbury Court. Quite pleased with this but only because I managed to sneak back into the house just as the heavens opened

Wednesday Mar 10, 2021 #

1 AM

road run 31:04 [3] 3.0 mi (10:21 / mi)

Car had to go into Mazda main dealer for random safety recall. Weather has changed, mild wet and starting to get windy (which was behind) -its uphill from St Pauls. Very snotty and don't want to do much
2 AM

road run 29:20 [3] 3.0 mi (9:47 / mi)

But downhill back, even if it was into the wind

Tuesday Mar 9, 2021 #

off road 1:01:01 [3] 5.5 mi (11:06 / mi)

Nice sunny mild, I did want to get out and now it seems just a cough/ cold rather than a flu/ temperature thing a potter seemed ok. and it was a good day for a loop of Ashton Court. Would not want to do more

Saturday Mar 6, 2021 #

Note
(sick)

Definitely now have a cold so no running

Friday Mar 5, 2021 #

off road 50:00 [3] 4.5 mi (11:07 / mi)

Again ran gently down through Begbrook. Frechhay, Oldbury Court and then back. Met John Parfitt running with his dog almost by my house...his granddaughter lives on my estate

Thursday Mar 4, 2021 #

off road 30:00 [2] 2.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Felt quite grim today and a bit shivery but went out into the local wood as a nice day, Did not feel right so just ran gently back.

Wednesday Mar 3, 2021 #

Note

Knees have been a bit troublesome so happy not to consider running today

Tuesday Mar 2, 2021 #

off road 1:03:20 [3] 6.0 mi (10:33 / mi)

Standard Purdown route. The recent weather has mean that its now good to run om again. Another grey day surprisingly cold so waited till afternoon and the sun did breakthrough -still felt cold and stated with too many clothes and not very quick but better later and quite pleased with the time and for the second day in succession really enjoyed it

Monday Mar 1, 2021 #

off road 1:40:19 [3] 9.0 mi (11:09 / mi)

Ran from Swineford, up to race course, down to Landridge Church, back up and round battlefield, back via North Stoke, field route. At the start It was a grey day with quite a nip in the wind but by the time I had finished the sun had broken through and it was much more pleasant, from 5 to 9 degrees. My running was a bit the same a struggle to start with but going better later so much so that I was a bit disappointed not to get under 100 mins. My knees have recently been (and in particular RHS) a bit of a problem despite Ibuprofen which means some of the descents are not great
