orienteering race (Urban) 47:00 [5] 6.0 km (7:50 / km)
Chew stoke -nice change to have a village race. Chew Stoke is delightful, with ford, church, school, flowers etc. -only ever driven through before. Enough navigation to keep interest - Pete put lots of variety into the course. Big bodge up at no. 2 - not convinced map is quite 100% here and 50 cows bunched around the control did not help.... Others had no problem. Caught Chris but he was running stronger and when I hesitated he ran away. I hope this did not spoil his race, contest added to mine. Made some other errors. All the races this year have had errors - I think that this relates to running near the edge - interesting to read this across to proper orienteering.
There is no doubt I have slowed a lot in the last couple of years will be able to quantify if I do a couple of road races later in the year. This is an age not fitness effect.
