Orienteering race (British Schools Champs) 24:01 [5] ** 4.75 km (5:03 / km) +65m 4:44 / km
spiked:11/13c shoes: VJ Sport IRock

British Schools, Temple Newsam, B11 3.9km

Was always going to be fast so knew I had to run well. Nice fast start to 1 and running well to 2. 3 was a straight downhill path run but got distracted by another control consequently faffing and loosing probably 10 - 15 seconds which was annoying especially on such an easy leg! Got my head straight for 4 and was clean and fast through to 8 where I came in a bit too early but didn't loose much at all. Solid into the finish picking good route choices. Weren't solid enough though as Tim beat me to 2nd by 4 seconds but we both were over a minute down to Aidan. Happy with podium though and pleased with the weekend as a whole :)

World Schools Qualification, Adel Woods, M16 4.4km

To be honest this race had been my years focus and I really did want to run well. Had a full English and was hoping it wouldn't affect things and It didn't thankfully. After a 2-3 hesitation at 1 I hit it well, and flowed through 2,3 and 4 nicely just sticking to solid route choice and was running well. 5 was a longer leg and decided to cut across the boulders which ended up leading me right at the control. 6 was in a bit of a fuss after crossing the river thing but maybe lost another 2-3 seconds. 7,8,9 and 10 were hit spot on really. Coming into 11 I had been planning my route to 12 which was a good call as it was in the middle of the green but I hit it well. Clean into the finish and pleased with it. 2nd, a minute behind Matt F which i'll take. Job done :)

Gym 21:00 [3]
shoes: Inov8 Trailroc 255

There was a gym at the hotel so thought I'd give it a try. Easy on the tremill for a bit of a warm down, Spinning bike, rowing machine and finished with some weights but then some hench guy walked up with his massive biceps out and I felt like a mug with my 10kg weights so walked off. Masculinity dented... ;)

A quick one on the schools field during circuits. Just loops round at a decent pace before I got a massive stitch. Carried on a bit slower then on the final loop at the top of the filed in a tucked away bit I am positive someone whistled, so kind of stopped and looked around, felt a tad uneasy and ended up sprinting off back down to the gym. Never run so hard in my life and the stitch just went! Taking a headtorch out next time.
