BOC Relays 2014 (Cragg Estate)

Junior Ad Hoc 5-BB 3.6km 80m

In a chasers team with Gemma C-S and Meg C. Just wanted a good run and not to miss punch like last year. Not much to report. Good technically, small miss at 9, coming through the valley and up too far north. Well relocated. Then good through the rest. Good flow throughout which was good. 6th on gaffel, all 6 within 3 mins.

Team 3rd.

BOC 2014 Northumberland (Thrunton and Callaly)

M16A 6.9km 200m

Feeling relaxed at start and flowed nicely through the first 4. Good running and technically smooth. 5 was the long leg and my route choice was alright. A long downhill (but very rocky and muddy) path run and came in too early but rectified well not loosing too much time. 6 was the slog up the hill to the crag and led in by a train. 7. The mere. Bearing on a slope and hit the path to early and was faffing around a rock feature that was miles away. Lots of faff. Eventually re-located. Gutted. 8 was another slog up the hill and wasn't feeling too strong. Hit well. Coming out I was still thinking about the cock up and drifted to far north. More faff. A couple minutes lost at both. Bucked up from there and ran well into the finish. Pretty shite unfortunately.

Steady out up Abrahams to Army base, by passing the shooting butt thing. Was tempted to have a little sprint up but it was far too early. Round to Deer Lawns, dropped down to main track and back to seven springs and home. Rained throughout and I was quite tired so not the fastest, but nice to have the chase to myself.
