PP Relays 2013. Not a good night sleep, never is but this was bad. About 3.5 proper sleep. Run was difficult. Had nothing in the tank from the start, couldn't focus and calf didn't feel good. Made quite a few mistakes, but I just couldn't get the legs moving. Could hardly jog up the hill for no.4 and was messing about navigationally. A few miserable and messy Km later no.17 was up the same hill and it killed me. Was struggling to walk. Calf was hurting and I had had enough to be honest. Didn't want to let the team down so carried on. Calf was hurting all the way back. Then at the finish, as the presentation was underway decided to bloody pass out... as you do! A gel sorted me out though. I don't know what was wrong with me, maybe need more food or sleep? Beautiful area and great day.

Stretching (Back and Hamstrings) 9:00 [1]

Travelled up to the Lakes for Peter Palmer relays. Stretching before Run.

Run (Path) (Easy) 43:35 [2] 4.04 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: VJ Sport IRock

Wanted a run out as I was up in the lakes, seemed like a waste not to and wanted a jog out. As I was heading out bumped into Nathan from W Mids squad, so we ran together. Good having someone to run with, and we headed up the road and along a path that ran parallel to the Derwent Water. An easy run, just what I needed. Great views of the lake and very enjoyable.

Recovery run after fitness yesterday, and to see how the hamstring is. Also took a Pwll Du map just to get my hand back in with route choices on technical open land, prep for weekend. Started well, nice really easy pace, not pushing at all, but pleasant. Down the road to canal, down to canal, up to jubilee, bit of messing about in some fields and home. Could feel it at times, nothing too bad, but quite achy at the end. Hopefully an hour in the bath will sort things.

Warm up (Run and Stretching) 6:30 [2] 0.3 km (21:40 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Nike ACG

P.E, before fitness.

Fitness Training (P.E Fitness test) 30:00 [3] 0.5 km (1:00:00 / km)
shoes: Nike ACG

30 second sit ups and press ups, sit and reach, standing jump, shuttle runs (4m), 40m sprint. Decided to give this ago, but if there was pain I would stop. Easy with sit ups, sit and reach, shuttle runs and sprint. Didn't want to push it. Hamstring bit achy after shuttle runs, but felt ok. Overall, pleased with results and how I felt afterwards.
12 PM

Run (Road) (Bleep Test) 15:00 [4] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Nike ACG

(20m) Reached 12.5, 0.5 better than last year, and really pleased to be honest. Its always harder than you think, but finished joint second in the year. 1st was only 0.2 ahead. Afterwards, left lower back was tight and achy, but hamstring was a tad achy, but not bad!

Stretching (Back and Hamstring) 7:00 [2]
shoes: Nike ACG

Gym was free so used the mats that were out to stretch off. Glad I did!

Note
weight:55.5kg (injured)

Well, It's been a pretty bad season to be honest fitness wise. The summer has gone so fast. Its been over 6 months since my rugby accident and its still giving me grief. I go and see a consultant on the 23rd, a Mr V Jasani, so hopefully he can do something. Then when I'm trying to get back running now, my hamstring decides to play up. I am hoping that the leg sorts its self out, but I will continue to stretch it and see how it is for the weekend. With the back, will have to wait and see but I hope that I will be able to get down to some proper training in the next few months without any pain for a change.
