Orienteering race 31:58 [5] *** 1.9 km (16:49 / km) +45m 15:03 / km
spiked:15/16c shoes: Skechers GoRunS

Normally I am very poor at sprints, in part because I'm slow, and in part, because the change in scale confuses me. Today I did pretty well. Having controls 6 and 9 in close proximity was a little confusing going to 9 since I had my map upside down and they were so close. Otherwise navigation was really good. I think I could have done a little better with a different route choice from 5 to 6. I was satisfied and got the bronze medal, I think for the first time in a sprint.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:120 max:136

Today as work your legs day, and we did lots of squat-type of stuff. I thought it was a little more vigorous than usual. The last round was swimming planks, where you were supposed to spend three minutes in plank position, alternating arms making swimming motions. No, I couldn't do it for the entire three minutes--I took some rest break moments.

Good workout on "whittle your middle" Monday.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]

Had my usual Wed. night session with Jared on Monday, since I have to leave Wed. to get to New York. My right knee has an odd feeling, so I said to Jared, "I hope I'm not wearing out my cartilage", and he said, "It happens". That didn't make me feel any better. We did lots of upper body stuff, and leg exercises to work the muscles that help hold the knee cap in place. Also the usual agility, but no power stuff to save my knees for this weekend.

9Round 31:30 [4]
ahr:114 max:134

Good workout with lots of plank-type things. Station five was doing uppercuts to the big bag while in squat lunge position and switching legs after every second punch. My arms were really tired after three minutes of uppercuts.

Dog Walking 1:11:00 [3] 4.0 mi (17:45 / mi)
shoes: Skechers GoRunS

Took ElRay to Watkins Mill, and we went counter-clockwise. I had planned on doing some running, but forgot to put on my knee brace. I could feel the area, not in pain, but didn't want to chance it before my trip northeast. We did walk at a pretty good pace and limited the stops.
