Hiked all the 'official' trails of the South Mountain Preserve in Emmaus, PA along with trying out the heart rate monitor of the Garmin. On average, when walking my hr is about 110-120 at a leisurely pace, 130 or so when I try to push 4 mph (in the snow) and actually 160 when I go uphill in the snow. This is a great place to hike and get a workout for those so inclined. You start at the valley floor (400 ft) and get up to 1040 or so in chunks. 1066 kcal says the Garmin.

Trail walking the Pool Wildlife Sanctuary in Emmaus, PA to gather GPS data for the OSM. We had 4 inches of snow on the ground - amazing how that can slow you down.

Sinus infection today, but a new toy. Garmin Forerunner 410. Took a walk at Trexler Park to begin my mapping efforts for OSM in the SE PA Area. Got all the paths that I am aware of. Went to the inlaws for Christmas Feast with roast beast.

A fine hike in French Creek with Mary and Stan. We did the White/Red Mill Creek and then some tooling around Hopewell Furnace. "Bunny Map" in hand, I looked for Orienteering landmarks where I could spot them. For those not familiar with this term, a "Bunny Map" is a DVOA Orienteering Map, which has a bunny logo. KSwede had told me it is actually Brer Rabbit, but somehow "Bunny Maps" still sticks.
