RGWinter League 6 @ Camp River Ranch. John B and Vicki M set what I thought was a fantastic course - a short but physical control pick which was proper PNW jungle orienteering, like a exceptionally tough Bog Slog or a Peteris Tiger Mountain course from back in the day. One of those where two miles feels like ten.
I made a poor choice to climb straight out of 1, finding myself at the top of the hill, when I could have saved 2-3 contours by continuing east from 1, then climbing. My general strat was to go straight (i.e. off-trail) as much as feasible, which worked well with one or two suboptimal exceptions where it seems trails were faster, namely my route to 7 and perhaps 22. Still, a good run without any real mistakes.
