5 PM

Swimming intervals (Prince Alfred Park Pool) 56:07 [3] 2.8 km (20:03 / km)

20*100s@2:05. Every 3rd lap with kicking, the rest with pull buoy.
Felt good!
Could probably move this to 2:00s, but probably more valuable to get used to the speed, and move to 10*200s @ 4:10.

Watched some good videos on the catch and body rotation (thinking of your hip as a stabalising fin) prior to going which helped a lot.

Swimming intervals 58:37 [3] 2.6 km (22:33 / km)

Great workout thanks to international swim-coach Paul C!
All pull buoy

Warm up
11*100s@2:15
Cool down
Lap times ok 1.46/1.50/1.48/1.53/1.51/1.52/1.55/1.54/1.54/1.53/1.53

Could maybe do this on 2:00 (as Paul suggested) or 2:05, but wasn't sure i could keep under 2.
Also finding that the more i relax, and don't worry about how fast i'm going, the faster i go... probably makes sense as it would help me breathe better.

Still issues with cramping up in hamstrings and calves during cooldown... probably due to pull buoy.

Tried kicking a couple of laps in cool down, which didn't feel too bad, but not feeling 100% the next day, so might leave that another week.

Note
(injured)

Finally got to see the sports doctor, who could see the fracture clearly on ultrasound ($300 MRI wasted).
Advised that i can start cycling (easy) and swim-kicking (easy) again as long as it doesn't hurt, so will get on the turbo tonight to test, and have a bit of a kick tomorrow in the pool.
Suggested that fibula stress fractures in runners is generally caused by a pronation, which we're theorising is from high running volumes on different/rockier australian terrain, with softer-soled shoes.

xray in 3 weeks for an opinion on when i can run again.
5 PM

On drops, testing the leg. seems ok

Note
(sick)

sick this morning, so maybe slowness yesterday was about more than just pullbuoy placement.
