Orienteering 1:09:32 [3] 10.0 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Inov8 280

Brown 10km (according to map) 9km (according to final details) - felt a long way compared to O runs of late, though time shows that the distance was probably about right (possibly even a bit short). Generally very runnable (though got bogged down in a silly route choice to No. 1).

Caught up with ST and we ran head - head for a few controls before he appeared to have got away from me (looked like he was running faster than me, though taking some surprising routes between controls). Several errors caused by lack of concentration and being lax with the compass bearing accuracy. Fatigue got the better of me before the end. Overtaken by Pete J near the end - my running speed was faster, but his route choice and execution was smooth and efficient - a pleasure to see someone orienteering well!

Forest and course shape very enjoyable, possibly still a bit tired after being away in Lakes (and the drive home) and couldn't apply myself to the O task as well as I would've liked.

Note

Travel home from the lakes.

Drive was rather a chore through some of the busier sections.

Walking hills 6:30:00 [3] 12.0 km (32:30 / km) +800m 24:23 / km

Traverse of Coniston Hills (Dow Crag, OM-of-C, Wetherlam).
Misty into the distance, but otherwise a really good day for it.
