Brown Clee. Course 3.
Big time errors in open area with many copses - great difficulty getting the map to fit and didn't manage distance estimation at all well. Caught up by W21 from BOK and proceeded to demonstrate my rubbish technique in the open area as we ran round the rest of the course pretty much together. I seemed better in the woods, however, though still not particularly slick.

Brown Clee. Course 3
Dissappointing run on an area where I was expecting to see more of the course out of the forest.
Very poor in open area and caught up by BOK W21. Then ran most of the rest of the course together. I was better in the wood. She was better in the open.

Hilly. Reasonable run. Frustratingly had to help out someone earlier on the course who couldn't believe that he was in the wrong place.

Ludlow Urban Race. Course 2

More an eyesite test than an orienteering test. Will I ever get to like this format?
Better result than I was expecting. Cumulation of early errors led to significant demotivation.

Thursday Run.
Relatively easy run as the last formal exercise before the SINS weekend.
Didn't feel too strained and felt that I could continue at the same pace for longer.

Swimming 40:05 [4] 2.0 km (20:03 / km)

Pool seemed very busy to start, but only affected the first 4 lengths (when speed is not representative anyway). Started very strong - possibly too strong because a definite decrease in speed through the water from length 28/30 (loss of poise due to fatigue?), though felt that I was still putting in just as much effort. Lost about 15s over the last 10 lengths. Overall a good session, helped by having other strong swimmers in the lane.

Had to go via home to pick up glasses. Then stuck at crossing for 3-4 mins.

Away in reasonable time for a change, so arrived just after 17:30.

Three good games (though didn't seem to win a single one!). Pretty physical rallies with some good strategic play at times and reasonable accuracy.
