6 AM

Note

Throat feeling a bit sore this morning. Start of some illness? Otherwise (apart from tiredness after a busy weekend and a late night) don't feel too bad this morning: will have to see how things develop.
7 AM

Cycling 7:00 [3] 1.4 mi (5:00 / mi)
shoes: Lidl Cycling Shoes 2011

Home -> Pool

New outside light working well!

Swimming 40:30 [3] 2.0 km (20:15 / km)

First and second 10 within par, but then significant decrease in available energy. About as expected after a tiring weekend.
8 AM

Cycling 13:30 [3] 3.0 mi (4:30 / mi)
shoes: Lidl Cycling Shoes 2011

Pool -> Work
Quite chilly but otherwise very pleasant morning (no lights needed). Start of half term holiday week so relatively quiet on the roads.

SLOW/MV Headley Heath CSC Qualifier - Blue Men

Very nice late winter day. Couldn't get to grip with what was mapped and what wasn't by way of vegetation and paths. Also had difficulty seeing some of the point features on the map when relocating (in spite of using the reading glasses). Banged head (enough to draw blood) on a low tree branch whilst looking at the map. Energy ebbing due to general fatigue and lack of nav success. All-in-all a duff event for me. Plenty of other people adjusted to the idiosyncrisies of the map ok, so can't put it all down to that. 2 hrs of childcare (incl. string course) probably wasn't ideal prep mentally or physically.

Felt very tired at the end.

Note
(rest day)

No formal exercise today, however, spent several hours (much of it up a ladder and working at shoulder/head height) fixing up cabling to a new outside light). Arms quite tired after this!

Fantastic morning - almost spring like in the brightness/lightness, though with some sign of a late frost. Very pleasant cycling.

7 AM

Cycling 7:00 [3] 1.4 mi (5:00 / mi)
shoes: Lidl Cycling Shoes 2011

Home -> Pool.

A rush after being delayed by B playing up (not a good start to the day).

Swimming 39:45 [4] 2.0 km (19:53 / km)

Another good swim, after a rushed start.
Sorted out the swimming trunk problems by pulling the waist cord tight (beyond to its elastic limit) and maing sure that the waist band ends up a little higher than just above the hips.
Exact start time was not noted, but intermediate splits implied that I was well within target - even had sub 60s lengths during the final ten!
8 AM

Cycling 13:30 [3] 3.0 mi (4:30 / mi)
shoes: Lidl Cycling Shoes 2011

Pool -> Work
Traffic really heavy on the final stretch. Patterns seem to be variable (due to the flyover work?).
6 PM

Cycling 12:00 [3] 1.8 mi (6:40 / mi)
shoes: Lidl Cycling Shoes 2011

Work->Home

Via Asda for essential Valentines purchases!
