Cold, rainy and dark outside so attempted to do a tempo workout on the treadmill. Was going OK until I accidentally hit the cord that stops the machine. So I had to estimate the total time. Tempo part was probably 13 minutes of the 28.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I was just thankful to be able to get a run in today with all the preps for the big feast later. 16 people. I have heard of people with bigger groups. Barbara is really doing all the important work - the cooking.

Two laps of the park in the drizzle, but, hey, that's why we have all that expensive high-tech clothing.

On the pavement around the golf course. Seemed a little behind at 1 mile but caught up by 1.7 miles. Went 20 minutes. 11:22 jog warm up and 5:03 jog cool down. Got dark.

Note

Volunteered at the cross country invitational organized by Checkers. Didn't have an important job ("Keep in line, pull your tabs") but it was an interesting experience. Ben had run in this event years ago.

Didn't much feel like a speed workout. Awoke this AM with a little headache which I think was due to a sinus thing. Took an Advil before the run which probably helped in multiple ways. So I went for a gentle jog to the lake and around. The bridge over Delaware is fixed! Hooray.

Note

It's going to be hard to run for a few days. We go to VA to visit friends who recently moved there from here. Neither of them run and I think I'd feel funny leaving everybody to indulge myself. It would be interesting terrain though. Out in the country near Charlottesville.

Note

Tonight was the Sailing Club Awards Dinner which Barbara and I were in charge of organizing this year. We got a late start so we have been pretty busy for the last couple of days. That's my excuse for not running and I'm sticking to it. BTW by most accounts it was a big success.

Got a late start so set up an interval workout on the treadmill. It took a little arithmetic to input the workout. Was able to do about 75% of it before dinner. Seems like a good way to do a workout like this. Might need to find things to view on TV. Forced to watch CBS evening news (OK) and Inside Edition (ugh).

Got in the 800m, the 1000m, and the 1200m, with jogs in between. 10 min and 5 min warm up and cool down jogs.
