Orienteering race 32:55 [5] 4.3 km (7:39 / km)

hotter than usual. I made about 2 minutes of mistakes on number 11 and small mistakes on most of the rest.

Orienteering race 50:05 [5] 5.8 km (8:38 / km)

It was much hotter this afternoon, and I was dying an elongated death throughout the race. I made few large mistakes, but I ran very slowly because of lack of hydration and exhaustion.

Orienteering warm up/down 30:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

slower than usual, I was afraid of heatstroke.

I ran around a park behind Wakefield high school. It was probably the most fun I have had running outside in a long time. I was running off trail with no plan on where to go, then I went to the top of a hill, looked for another feature and ran to it, then repeated.

ran 4x1000

splits:
3:19 (a bit slow because I wasn't sure what pace I was supposed to be going)
3:13 (felt fine)
3:12 (fine)
3:22 (had stomach problems -- needless to say, it slowed me down)

recovery was the same time as the split beforehand.

Running (easy) 25:00 [3] 3.49 mi (7:10 / mi)

easy run along the Salem Harbor.

Orienteering race (sprint) 22:30 [5] 2.7 km (8:20 / km)

fairly slow. running through the thick underbrush in the park slowed me down more than I would have hoped.

Orienteering long 50:41 [3] 6.6 km (7:41 / km)

I ran quite poorly for the first 9 controls -- I think I made 8 or 9 minutes of mistakes. After the 9th control I made very few mistakes.
