Orienteering race (Mixed Long) 35:22 [4] 3.5 km (10:06 / km)

JHI Relay - 2nd on my leg, 5th team
Made the same mistake as yesterday's number 2 on number 3. got really confused at number 6, standing 25m from the control thinking that the map didn't fit the ground - I'm still not sure how that happened because I reckon I wet exactly where I wanted to. Lost map contact on 11 while racing Briony and went too high and too far. The rest was ok I think

Event: JHI Weekend

Orienteering race (Moor Long) 1:07:00 [4] 5.4 km (12:24 / km)

JHI Individual - Creag Mhic - 4th
Analysis on Map. Absolutely idiotic mistake on number 2, some poor route choices later on, some time lost going through over the head bracken instead of around it

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 20.0 km (3:00 / km)

Graythwaite Loop with han, pretty steady. Got a bit of a cold still :'(

Wednesday Aug 27, 2014 #

Running (Recovery) 50:00 [3] 7.0 km (7:09 / km)

Over the Heights and along the embankments.
Ran 4.7 km of it, had a nice catch up with Hans for the rest. Not sure whether I'll bother doing anything tomorrow, I'm just knackered in the leggy region and I want to recover properly before JHIs

Running (Flat Road) 47:00 [3] 8.2 km (5:44 / km)

Fishouse lane
Steady sort of pace, nice to get out after travelling yesterday, and appreciate the beauty of the English countryside, the fresh air, and the joy of my sweet homevalley

Running intervals (Flat ) 23:00 [4] 4.0 km (5:45 / km)

1k jog, 5 x 100m sprints with 100m slow jogging recovery
3k jog back through terrain/paths with the other 5 x 100m at various points
Determined to get better at sprinting with tired legs as my run in times are always an embarrassment. Last run in Sverige :'(

Orienteering (Forest Long) 1:08:00 [4] 6.0 km (11:20 / km)

Reaally tired on the second long leg, but managed to catch julie up on the first, much smug. No major mistakes until the last control (I didn't actually look at my map so I went the wrong way round a small hill), but a few wavers in places - two control circle issues and a distance judgement mistake on number 3. Came 2nd, and second overall at O meeting, first brit which is obvs what matters.

Orienteering (Urban Sprint) 15:46 [5] 2.1 km (7:30 / km)

3rd: Moa Petterson 15.00, Jules 15.15, me.
Possibly should have run a bit faster, but I felt like I was running as fast as I could navigate so maybs not. Managed to go the way I'd planned on every leg, the problem being that I didn't always plan the most direct route (longer way round buildings, gardens etc)

S&C 20:00 [5]

Squats and me and Sarah's skulling position exercise, and planked for the entire duration of Helen's shower

Running (Road) 39:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:12 / km)

Saw moscow state uni! Most exciting morning run ever :D Plus nice to get out after spending the day before in about 10 lectures at 30 degrees C.

S&C 20:00 [5]

Did some of the exercises we made up in Paul's session. Poss too risky to go for more run's than we did and risk the wrath of Dr Salmon who already thinks we're "spoiled brats"

Running (Road) 35:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:00 / km)

Moscow Moscow MockBa :D Finally escaping chaperonage for a sneaky morning run with Helen. Fairly scary running around a few residential streets and seeing what appeared to be a dead dog. Had to make a plan of action in case one of us got shot hah.
Recovered from the Lakes 5 and keen to get moving again
