Skiing 30:00 [2]

Only the time I was actually skiing for, and intensity is an average of piste skiing (1) and off piste (definitely 3)

Sunday Dec 30, 2012 #

Running 40:00 [2]

Attempted hills but running uphill on ice/snow is far too much effort, so we sort of jogged up the village for a bit

Saturday Dec 29, 2012 #

Skiing 4:00:00 [2]

Only the time I was actually skiing for (we were out for like 9 hours), and intensity is an average of piste skiing (1) and off piste (definitely 3)

Friday Dec 28, 2012 #

Running (Snowshoeing) 2:00:00 [2]

Only counting the time we were going uphill. This is so knackering it must count as cross training.

Thursday Dec 27, 2012 #

Skiing 2:30:00 [3]

Only the time I was actually skiing for, and intensity is an average of piste skiing (1) and off piste (definitely 3), plus about half an hour of uphill skiing which must be like a 6..

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Drills and jogging

Running intervals 14:00 [5]

Lactate shuttles
Longer ones:
2 sets of 2 intervals with a few minutes to recover between sets. One interval was 1 lap (of the all weather hockey pitch) on, half a lap "role on" or "floating" (din't feel very floaty at the time..).
Shorter ones:
Similar but done in a figure of 8 with the "on" as the diagonal and rolling on around the shorter side. 4 laps of the figure of 8.

Circuits (TV circuits) 17:30 [4]

5x
1 min plank (alternating normal/sides)
2.5 min skisits

Monday Dec 17, 2012 #

Running warm up/down 50:00 [2]

The usual jog up and down the usual track

Running hills (Long hills) 10:00 [3]

5x 50 seconds with 70 seconds recovery and longer recovery to "slow walk" down between the third and fourth. Catching up on a spot of gossip and getting utterly humiliated by Hannah keeping up with me despite the fact she's pretty much dying of a cold..

Orienteering (NWJS) 40:00 [3]

Team thingy so like seven 400m ish courses on the hill above Ambleside.

Saturday Dec 15, 2012 #

Orienteering (NWJS) 1:00:00 [2]

General squadding about at roan head. Mainly enlarging the control/attack points type exercises.

Orienteering (NWJS) 20:00 [4]

Afternoon relay

Running (Long run/jog) 1:05:00 [3]

Was meant to do intervals but barely only me adam and megan showed (and megan went back after 5 minutes) so we decided to go for a nice little jog around the fishouse lane loop. Very hard training of course with absolutely no ice skating.

Monday Dec 10, 2012 #

Running hills (Short Hills) 20:00 [5]

3 sets of 10x20second hills.
On much better terrain than before (we could actually run, woo!) but I still managed to stick my feet in about ten rabbit holes which has resulted in rather ouchy knees.

Running warm up/down (Jog to/from) 40:00 [2]

Includes time between sets.

Saturday Dec 8, 2012 #

Running race (Cross Country) 19:45 [5] 4.51 km (4:23 / km)

First cross country in nearly a year. Ouch. Glad I didn't go to YBT as (judging by my current level of grouchyness and my jelly leggies after this) I'm pretty sure I would have been no help whatsoever.

Thursday Dec 6, 2012 #

Running intervals 25:00 [4]

The usual - 5x 2.5mins, 2.5mins recovery

Felt like raaabbish woo. Even jogging feels like a huge effort, I think maybe I need more sleep, and less exams. Was nice to have more company for a change - at least I didn't have to be scared of the murderers/bears/dogs/creeps in the forest this time :D

Running warm up/down (Jog to/from) 40:00 [3]

Tuesday Dec 4, 2012 #

Running 1:00:00 [1]

Yes I am putting this in. Those bags of newspapers are damn heavy, and carrying them is certainly training.

Monday Dec 3, 2012 #

Running hills (Long hills) 10:00 [4]

5x 50seconds with 70seconds recovery
First run with Carrie for over 2 months.. aand someone's been training at uni. Ouch.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Jogging up the usual track, and hearing a bit more of the Cambridge goss. Serious jealousy going on here.

Sunday Dec 2, 2012 #

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Jogging up to the start (about 20 minutes) and then a few drills when I got there.

Orienteering race 1:23:33 [3]

Brown, 8.1km
Wasn't as bad as expected after a messy start getting used to the scale, and a few 30second/1minute type errors here and there. Managed to run most of it which I hadn't expected and didn't feel too bad at the end.
Achieved my goals of maintaining map contact, having a route plan and keeping concentration all the way around :)

Saturday Dec 1, 2012 #

Running 1:10 [3]

Shuttles for running style video analysis

Running warm up/down 37:00 [2]

combined warm ups for shuttles, peer review laps and night-O

Running 6:00 [3]

Some little lap with uphill, downhill, marsh, rockjump for peer analysis of running style.

Running 40:00 [3]

Night-O peg relay around Brathay Woods - should have been 4.5 km but we skipped a little section, and didn't do any peg loops.
