Had an absolutely terrible run! Physically I felt fine but I hadn't got much sleep and I think this must have what led to my terribel run.

First set of control I nearly lost our large gap on 2nd place, then had a couple controls against 2nd (just so scrappy and poor map reading in such an easy area that I ahve run in before). --> So so so angry all the way around the course :(

Any way pulled away and came through the specatator thinking I was fourth (turns out I was winning).

We ended up winning, which just shows how much hard work can pay off as all three of us in about three years have gone from never orienteering to winning the mens short!

I'm not going to beat around the bush our performance didn't deserve the win that day, but the field was pretty poor. However, as Joss said basically our win today, felt more like recognition for our good performance at the JK where we narrowly missed out.

British Champs

Not going to do a super detailed write up but to sum up my run in a word I would probably say 'good' (nothing special, nothing terrible).

Super cautious at the start which led to a big mistake on 2, then just slow splits where I would be checking the map too much or my hesitation led to slight misses but basically fine.

Then my flow was fairly good until the bloody slag heap. Knew it owuld be hard slowed right down still binned soooo much time!

The rest of the course was fairly good, the end was very scrappy but that was down to tiredness I think.

Overall without the biggies I would have been close to 80mins which would have been a good result, but I'm not too annoyed at this result.

Fairly brisk pace round, enjoyable run and feeling fit :)
